Job summary

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred.
• Current Medical Technology Certificate/licensed by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT.
• Clinical competence in Medical Technology preferred.
• Current license to practice medical technology in Georgia; BLS preferred.
• Three to five years experience in laboratory management or related field; advanced management skills.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory, supervises the daily operations of the Laboratory department in accordance with accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for analyzing specimens and obtaining data for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Provides safe and efficient laboratory services to infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patient populations. Communicates with medical staff, other departments and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. Responsible for the supervision of up to thirty (30) professional and skilled personnel.

QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 1. Minimum level of Education: Education level equivalent to four (4) years of college with concentration in medical technology or related field preferred. Current Medical Technology Certificate licensed by AMT, ASCP, HHS, NCA, or ISCLT .
• 2. Formal Training: Clinical competence in Medical Technology preferred.
• 3. Licensure, Certifications & Registration: current license to practice medical technology in the state of Georgia. BLS preferred.
• 4. Work Experience: Advanced management skills with experience in planning, organizing,, implementing, facilitating, interviewing, counseling, verbal and written communications. Three to five years experience in laboratory management or related field. Intermediate computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
