About This Position

The Manager of Grant Financial Reporting & Accounting is responsible for leading the University's grant financial reporting, financial compliance activities, audit readiness, and departmental readiness for the annual financial and compliance audits. This position provides leadership in the preparation, analysis, and oversight of grant financial reports while ensuring compliance with federal, state, sponsor, and institutional requirements.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading the preparation and coordination of the annual financial compliance audit, including audit workpapers, development and evaluation of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), review and approval of audit schedules and supporting financial reports, and coordination of audit responses.

Leading and preparing for external and internal desk reviews, and institutional grant expenditure reviews for the Stillwater, OKC, OSU-IT, Tulsa, CHS, and Langston Campuses.

Developing, implementing, and evaluating processes for monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc grant financial, compliance and executive reporting, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data prior to and following issuance.

Serving as the departmental lead for grant financial reporting, data analysis, and reporting initiatives, including the independent development, review, approval, and analysis of recurring and ad hoc financial reports to support operational, compliance, audit, and executive decision-making.

Leading departmental budget reporting activities and serving as the financial lead for shared services agreement with Langston University.

Supervising grant accounting staff and serve as the chief grant manager for the Langston University grant and contract program through the OSU/Langston shared services agreement.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Accounting or related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Seven years of progressively responsible experience in grant and/or contract financial management, sponsored programs administration, financial reporting, auditing, or governmental accounting, including demonstrated experience in financial reporting, audit preparation and coordination, with two years of supervisory or lead experience.
Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for financial reporting and analysis.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting principles, audit standards, and federal and state regulations governing sponsored programs, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).

Experience with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools used for financial analysis, audit support, and compliance reporting.

Ability to analyze complex financial data, develop accurate reports, and independently identify and resolve reporting and compliance issues.

Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10 + years of experience in state fund accounting; federal, state, and private grant/contract accounting; and cost accounting.
Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses:

Certified Public Accountant and/or Certified Research Administrator

Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge:
  • Experience with grant financial reporting, audit reporting, and sponsored programs financial compliance reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, fund accounting, and federal and state compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare accurate, high-quality financial and compliance reports.
  • Experience with grant regulations, reporting standards, and internal control practices supporting sponsored programs.
  • Proficiency in enterprise financial systems and reporting tools, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
