Job description

LHH is partnering with an PE-backed real estate investment management firm that is seeking a Manager of Finance & Accounting to join their team. The responsibilities for this position are blended, with an ideal candidate having an accounting background, but recent finance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for the investment advisor and related entities, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
• Coordinate with third-party accounting, tax, and administrative service providers to support financial and compliance requirements
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the investment advisor and captive service providers
• Develop and maintain financial models, including revenue, expense, and cash flow projections
• Monitor performance versus budget and forecast, and prepare reporting and analysis for senior management
• Review and approve expense reporting in accordance with internal policies and external compliance requirements
• Support cash management activities, including cash flow tracking and liquidity planning
• Collaborate with internal teams (legal, compliance, investor relations, asset management) to ensure consistency with governing agreements and business operations
• Assist with investor reporting, capital raising materials, and ad-hoc requests from senior leadership
• Provide guidance and informal supervision to junior accounting staff, as needed
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5–7 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within real estate investment management, private equity, asset management, or financial services
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial accounting systems required (Workday experience preferred)
• Experience working with third-party accounting and tax service providers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• High level of attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
