LHH Recruitment Solutions in San Diego seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role emphasizes hands-on daily accounting work coupled with broader exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements.

You will partner with leadership on initiatives to enhance controls and efficiency. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets.
• Experience with an ERP or major accounting system.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of key areas of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
• Perform balance sheet and general ledger account analysis
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed
• Assist with external audits and preparation of supporting documentation
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
• Support special projects and additional accounting initiatives as the organization continues to grow

LHH is partnering with a growing organization in the San Diego area to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team.

This is a great opportunity for an accountant who enjoys being hands‑on with the numbers but also wants broader exposure and the ability to make an impact. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the month‑end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and day‑to‑day accounting while partnering with leadership on process improvements and special projects.

What You'll Be Doing

Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
