Job summary

Roll Group in Texas seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to ensure an efficient operating engineering department, delivering high-quality work on time to support safe execution and customer satisfaction.

You will lead budgeting, monitor project status, evaluate proposals, coach the team, and drive engineering strategy and delivery, including potential outsourcing when needed.

Qualifications

• Higher Vocational Education in Maritime Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years relevant experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for department and engineering project budgets.
• Report and keep track on project status, change hours (changes outside scope of project), engineering performance during a project.
• Provide input in favor of a project evaluation.
• Receive feedback on practicality of the operations and in case required discuss with team.
• Advise and interpret of the technical feasibility of a QA / tender request in case requested.
• Check and approve Engineering documents.
• Provide input, manage, and supervise engineering strategy.
• Responsible for coaching and development of team members and regular check ins to ensure employees are doing well and department/company goals are achieved.
• Manage and oversee the work to be performed by the teams and adjust where necessary including option of outsourcing engineering work.
• Lead and further develop the department, both in terms of strategy and human capital (right person right seat).
• Identify short and long-term company goals and translate these to department goals.
• Responsible for coaching and development of team members and regular check ins to ensure employees are doing well and department/company goals are achieved.
• Through your department team ensure complete, accurate, and timely execution and delivery.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor.

Education

Higher Vocational Education (Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering or similar)
