Responsibilities

• Lead designated study programs for American youth to China.
• Manage the operational aspects of programs, including logistics.
• Support student and family communications.
• Work with the Youth Program team for student recruitment and outreach; review applications, interview candidates, and select participants.
• Support student and family communications (updates, questions, materials, orientation).
• Work with the Marketing department on outreach, promotions, and social media.
• Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal interns, staff and chaperone teachers.
• Work with the team to create and monitor program budgets; coordinate with the accounting department on payments and reimbursements.
• Monitor outcomes, collect feedback, and prepare reports.

Founded in New York City in 1926 by American educators John Dewey, Paul Monroe, and Chinese scholars Hu Shi (胡適) and Kuo Ping-Wen (郭秉文), China Institute of America is an internationally renowned U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to deepening the world’s understanding of China through programs in arts & culture, education, business, and cuisine.

The Manager will manage China Institute’s youth education initiatives, with a primary focus on study programs for the youth between U.S. and China, and related initiatives including alumni engagement, along with other youth programs at China Institute. An important member of the education team, the manager will support the Associate Director on program planning, curriculum development, student recruitment, and work closely with partners, families, and staff to ensure successful, safe, and impactful experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead designated study programs for American youth to China, and other relevant regions.
• Support the Associate Director of the Youth Program to finalize and confirm program details during the planning, including communication with various partners in China and the U.S..
• Manage the operational aspects of programs, including logistics, scheduling, planning, and coordination of all necessary tasks to ensure successful implementation.
• Work with the Youth Program team for student recruitment and outreach; review applications, interview candidates, and select participants.
• Support student and family communications (updates, questions, materials, orientation).
• Work with the Marketing department on outreach, promotions, and social media.
• Recruit, train, and supervise seasonal interns, staff and chaperone teachers.
