Description

Texas Organ Sharing Alliance (TOSA), founded in 1975, is one of 57 federally-designated Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) in the United States. TOSA is committed to a mission of saving lives through organ donation by providing organ donation and recovery services to Central and South Texans wishing to donate, and to those waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. Job Summary: The Manager of Clinical Services manages and supports the clinical functions of the organization, including policies, goals, and objectives set by the President/CEO and the Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include managing clinical processes related to referrals, authorization, donor management, and organ allocation. The role oversees clinical staff involved in donation activities and develops staffing models. Travel may be required for job responsibilities, including by automobile or aircraft. The position involves handling confidential material and requires discretion, adhering to TOSA's confidentiality policies.

Work Schedule: Full-time, with standard hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On-call duties are required as needed, with occasional evening or weekend work, and potential for extended hours during periods of increased activity or travel.

Key Functions and Duties:

  • Assist in managing daily clinical operations alongside senior staff.
  • Supervise clinical coordinators and regional personnel.
  • Manage relationships with the Center for Life and University Hospital.
  • Contribute to policy development and clinical education based on performance assessments.
  • Analyze clinical activity data to improve processes and increase organ availability.
  • Evaluate donor cases and clinical protocols for continual improvement.
  • Collaborate on training programs with educators.
  • Serve as Administrator on-call as needed.
  • Work closely with the Medical Director on clinical issues and policies.
  • Coordinate resource deployment and staff management with senior leadership.
  • Assess clinical department operations and develop plans to meet organizational goals.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, agencies, and the public.
  • Guide clinical staff through referral, donor management, and organ allocation processes.
  • Participate in audits and facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain clinical audit schedules and document data accurately.
  • Collaborate on educational initiatives based on performance data.
  • Participate in committees and process improvement initiatives.
  • Represent TOSA at meetings and in reports.
  • Oversee the monthly on-call schedule.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. Competence in ORC I, II, & III responsibilities.
  2. Strong teamwork, clinical, analytical, organizational, and communication skills in high-stress environments.
  3. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  4. CPTC and FCCS certifications.
  5. Proficiency with standard office equipment.
  6. Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
  7. Reliable personal automobile.
  8. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs physically.
  9. Ability to travel by automobile or aircraft.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
