Position Information:The Office of Student Affairs at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality of student life experience throughout the four years of medical school. Student Affairs provides a variety of services, including student enrollment, financial aid, academic records, physical and mental wellness, admissions counseling, career counseling, externships, residency preparation and professional development.
The Manager of Admissions at the UCR School of Medicine leads the operational and strategic efforts of the medical school admissions process. This role includes supervising a team of staff, managing application review platforms, and overseeing the review and interview processes for more than 6,000 annual applications. The position involves strategic planning, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, recruitment activities, and the implementation of policies to support the school's mission. The Manager serves as a liaison to the AAMC, ensures compliance with admissions protocols, and provides data-driven insights to enhance admissions outcomes while fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
Please note the special requirements for this position: Occasional travel is required for university related business meetings, conferences, and/or professional development; ability to work evenings and/or weekends for recruitment/outreach events and other student affairs activities, as needed; Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours). Schedules may change due to operational needs; and ability to drive to and from business meetings, conferences, professional development, and/or recruitment events.
The full salary range for the Manager of Admissions is $73,600 - $133,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $103,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Within the department, responsible for all aspects of medical school admissions operational activities including day-to-day administrative duties and supervising a team of 3 full-time staff and student workers, coordinate training for staff, faculty reviewers, and interviewers, develop strategic planning in consultation with the Executive Admissions Committee, recruitment and outreach activities in collaboration with Pathways Program, UCR Health Professions Advising Center, Biomedical Sciences department, and other stakeholders, serve as the primary liaison to the AAMCs AMCAS system, oversees all other technical updates related to the medical school admission and application process., and oversee admissions electronic platform to manage, review, and evaluate more than 6000 applications per admission cycle, conduct more than 24 multi-mini interview (includes 8 stations with 8 interviewers and applicants), organize more than 14 admission committee meetings per year to select applicants for admissions to the medical school, provide management support to the Executive Associate Dean for Student Affairs, the Chair of Admissions and committee members. Gathers, analyzes and prepares reports and spreadsheets on applicant data for admission process and maintains AMCAS status reports. Advises prospective applicants to ensure recruitment and retention rate success. Oversees and maintains statistics regarding enrollment, geographical distribution of students, through retention and attrition. Reports this data to SOM leadership. Maintains strict confidentiality at all times when adhering to the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
