Job summary

Connor Group seeks high-caliber professionals to lead financial and accounting due diligence projects for buy-side and sell-side engagements. You will supervise engagement teams, interact with client personnel, and deliver high-quality analyses across complex accounting issues.

The role emphasizes advanced Excel use, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment. Travel up to 10% is expected as client needs dictate.

Qualifications

  • 6–7 years of public accounting or FDD experience.
  • CPA license required.
  • Ability to manage teams and own their work product.
  • Hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to motivate engagement teams.
  • Professional and personable demeanor.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for helping clients with a strong interest in technical accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with technology industries preferred.
  • Ability to act and lead as the client contact.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
  • Some travel may be required (about 10%).

Responsibilities

  • Identify critical deal issues and assess business strength against benchmarks for client discussions.
  • Challenge assumptions related to future financial projections.
  • Identify critical post-closing matters to improve profitability and cash flows.
  • Interact extensively with target company and client personnel.
  • Review and prepare due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings.
  • Assist with opening balance sheet and purchase price allocations, and closing working capital calculations.
  • Ensure work is delivered timely and in accordance with firm standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor staff and contribute to training and culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engagement team to perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side due diligence engagements
  • Strengthen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities through excellent quality, timely execution, and strategic approach to service delivery
  • Identifying and communicating (i) critical deal issues, (ii) the strength and weakness of the business against industry benchmarks to client management that could impact the purchase price or the deal structure
  • Challenging assumptions related to future financial projections
  • Identifying critical post-closing matters to be addressed to ensure improvements in profitability and cash flows
  • Interacting extensively with personnel of the target companies and the client
  • Reviewing and preparing due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings
  • Assisting with the finalization of (i) opening balance sheet/ of purchase price allocations, and (ii) closing working capital calculations.
  • Ensure work is delivered timely and in accordance with firm standards
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback and training. Develop and communicate workplace culture and code of conduct
  • Utilizing Excel to create FDD data pack end-to-end – advanced formulas, index match, power query, etc.
