Responsibilities

The Marketing and Communication Manager – Events, Conferences and Sponsorships is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and promotion of events, conferences, and sponsorship initiatives that elevates MCP and MCI brand presence, support strategic partnerships, and position the organization as a thought leader. This role works closely with the Director of Enterprise Thought Leadership, Media Manager and Director of Collaboration and Investments and marketing liasons, and coordinates engagement across key partner conferences and industry forums.

•Plans, manages, and executes high-impact events and conferences, with a focus on delivering an exceptional experience and measurable outcomes.
•Leads logistics, vendor management, and on-site coordination for proprietary and third-party events.
•Serves as the lead project manager for the PlatforMed Conference, overseeing strategy, planning, promotion, and execution.
•Coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive branding, content alignment, speaker engagement, and partner participation.
•Partners with the Director of Enterprise Thought Leadership to align event content, executive visibility, and speaker opportunities with strategic messaging.
•Works with Communications liaisons on the development of keynotes, panel content, and talking points for internal and external presenters.
•Manages relationships and logistics for participation in partner-hosted conferences, ensuring strong brand presence and strategic alignment.
•Collaborates with the Media Manager and marketing liaisons to promote events through owned and paid channels.
•Oversees the development of supporting materials, including event collateral, signage, and digital content.
•Oversees event and sponsorship budgets, timelines, and KPIs.
•Measures impact and capture insights to continuously improve future activations.
•Oversees dedicated senior specialists focused on conference and event planning and execution.


Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field plus 5 years of relevant work experience.Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity, simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy. Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build effective communication and engagement strategies.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to independently identify opportunities, solutions and resolve challenges. Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results. Requires an attitude that actively seeks out change, embraces critical questioning, innovation, service and continuous improvement. Must understand how to deal with and navigate ambiguity, and act without having the total picture. Adaptable or flexible. Demonstrated professionalism and ethics, with ability to earn credibility through integrity and transparency. Role models service excellence. Motivates others by being present, engaged, attentive, invites diverse perspectives, demonstrates and inspires a collaborative spirit.

Demonstration of strong management skills including strategy and visioning, change management, resource management, and sound judgment are required. Demonstrated use of management principles of delegation, organization and execution to maximize the value of projects and initiatives is also essential. Excellent interpersonal skills to include presentation, negotiation, persuasion, team facilitation, constructive feedback and written communications skills are required. Superior project management experience, knowledge and skills must be demonstrated. Incumbent must have the ability to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities. Demonstrates interest in continuous learning and professional development, in addition to functional area expertise.
