Job summary

Invitation Homes is seeking a Regional Maintenance Manager to oversee a single-family rental home maintenance department across markets. You will supervise technicians, manage budgets, and coordinate with office teams to meet property maintenance goals.

You will also recruit and train staff while ensuring safety standards and high resident satisfaction. The role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 certification required within 90 days if not already certified.
• Proven supervisory experience in single-family construction/renovation/maintenance (2+ years).
• Advanced knowledge of residential construction and mechanical systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool, carpentry, drywall).
• Comfort with using a computer and learning new software systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; other licenses as required by state law.
• EPA Type I/II and CPO certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance technicians to complete service requests per policy while ensuring a superior resident experience.
• Monitor market maintenance expenditures to balance financial performance, resident satisfaction, and needs.
• Collaborate with office and property management staff to develop an effective proactive team.
• Identify, onboard and coordinate local contractors as needed.
• Occasionally conduct field visits to resolve complex resident service issues and guide technicians.
• Recruit, hire and train all maintenance staff for the regional team.

Your Role

As a Regional Maintenance Manager at Invitation Homes you are responsible for supervising the operations of a single-family rental home maintenance department. This includes but is not limited to the following tasks:

• Supervising a team of maintenance technicians to ensure service requests are completed in accordance with company policies while maintaining a superior resident experience


• Actively monitoring and managing market maintenance expenditures to ensure market financial performance, resident satisfaction and property maintenance needs are effectively balanced


• Working closely with office team members and property management staff to develop an effective, proactive team which works together to achieve objectives


• Assisting in the identification, onboarding and coordination of local contractors as needed


• Occasionally conducting field visits to resolve complicated resident service issues and acting as a technical expert to guide maintenance technicians as needed


• Recruiting, hiring, and training all maintenance technicians and maintenance supervisors for the regional team

Your Experience

High School diploma or equivalent

OSHA 10 is required (new hires will have up to 90 days to complete OSHA 10 certification if not already certified)

Proven experience in all aspects of single-family construction, renovation and/or maintenance with 2 years of supervisory experience

Advanced knowledge of residential construction and mechanical systems and ability to perform general residential maintenance work including the following: plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC and appliances

Comfortability with using a personal computer, smart phone, or tablet and proficiency in general business applications as well as a willingness to learn new software systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills - multi-lingual a plus; strong organizational and time-management skills; and excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions and read and comprehend budgets

Possess a current driver’s license and automobile insurance and any other licenses and/or certification as required by state law

One or more of the following certifications are a plus but not required: EPA Certification, Type I and II. CPO certification (pool).

Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis, including weekends and holidays as needed, and be reachable via phone, email, or text, except during approved time off

Physical requirements

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is: $79,987.50 - $138,645.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
