Job summary

KYB Americas Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance Department at our Franklin, IN facility. You will drive machine reliability, preventive maintenance, and facility support while advancing continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to analyze performance data, and the coordination of staffing and budgets to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Maintenance, Operations, Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 4–6 years of related professional experience may substitute for a college degree.
  • 5 years of cross-functional business experience in maintenance management preferred.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-management experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze production, quality, scrap, efficiency, downtime, and workforce data to make informed decisions.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, coach, motivate, and support Maintenance Team members while creating a culture of teamwork and accountability.
  • Maintain equipment reliability and machine uptime while reducing unplanned downtime.
  • Oversee and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs.
  • Track and analyze machine downtime and lead corrective action and root-cause problem-solving efforts to prevent recurring issues.
  • Establish department goals focused on Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Promote Lean Business System principles and support Kaizen activities throughout the operation.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Production Control, Quality, Administrative, and other departments to support operational needs.

Job DetailsJob Location: Franklin, IN 46131Job Shift: B-7AM-3:30PM +2 hours of OT as neededPurpose of Position/Summary:

The Maintenance Manager will oversee the day to day operations of the Maintenance Department. He/she will be responsible for machine repair/rebuild, maintaining machine uptime, maintaining preventive maintenance while keeping machine downtime at or below target. He/she will also be responsible for upkeep of the facility. He/she will support all other departments in their efforts to improve efficiency, scrap, customer quality, and customer support.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain Key Job Responsibilities for the Maintenance Supervisors, which address Continuous Improvement in throughput, quality, safety, assets employed, preventive maintenance, machine repair, machine downtime and facility maintenance;
  • Ensure associate compliance with company policies and procedures;
  • Associate Recruitment, Development, Review, and Discipline;
  • Establish goals for the Maintenance Supervisors, which improve direct Labor Efficiency and productivity;
  • Implement methods to track and monitor machine downtime and implement corrective action programs to prevent reoccurrence;
  • Establish weekly and daily maintenance overtime requirements. Eliminate unnecessary overtime;
  • Coordinate operations and maintenance support for the value stream;
  • Use and promote Lean Business System to drive continuous improvement through Kaizen;
  • Lead and monitor projects to improve Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost;
  • Drive problem solving to root cause correction;
  • Build an environment of teamwork;
  • Determine Staffing levels and implement adjustments as needed;
  • Develop and monitor operational budget;
  • Maintain systems to track the performance to the annual budgetary goals of the company and ensure that the goals and objectives of the operation are communicated to the hourly employees;
  • Other duties assigned by Director on an as needed basis.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.
  • Regular presence on the manufacturing floor is required.
  • Walking throughout the facility will be a significant part of the workday.
  • Must remain aware of surroundings and potential hazards while working around manufacturing equipment.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds during abnormal or emergency situations.
  • Personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection, is required as applicable.
  • Close attention to equipment, work areas, and surrounding conditions is essential to maintaining a safe work environment.
