About the RoleThe Manager, Logistics (Origin Operations) is responsible for overseeing and managing logistics operations within a designated geographical region, focusing on Gap Inc.'s international shipments via ocean and air freight. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities and address challenges impacting Gap's transportation network and on-time performance. The manager ensures the efficient movement of goods, materials, and information within the region, optimizing processes and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management: Drive and manage logistics operations within the region, ensuring exceptional service delivery to internal customers.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to pinpoint opportunities and address potential challenges.
Performance Analysis: Analyze performance metrics to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
3PL Management: Manage third-party logistics (3PL) partners, plan routes, coordinate transportation, and oversee performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement: Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Ocean Consolidation Operation and Control Tower Management:
SOP Implementation: Communicate and implement logistics standard operating procedures (SOPs) with internal and external stakeholders.
Exception Management: Manage exceptions and coordinate with consolidators, vendors, and carriers to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
Risk Mitigation: Manage the Control Tower to proactively identify and mitigate logistics risks; ensure the Risk Register communication channel is followed.
Performance Coordination: Coordinate with forwarder’s Regional Control Tower and ensure their performance.
Compliance Management: Oversee consolidators' Container Freight Station (CFS) operations compliance within managed origins to ensure container utilization, loading hierarchy, and loading requirements as per SOP.
Factory Load Compliance: Manage factory load compliance within responsible origins and approve exceptions.
Training: Conduct training for consolidators and factories on operational requirements, Container Load Plan (CLP), loading requirements, and 3PL supervision.
Holiday Scheduling: Work out holiday schedules with service providers, ensuring cut-offs are reasonable with minimal impact on business.
Performance Management:
On-Time Delivery: Accountable for on-time INDC by ensuring LP and DP on-time performance of assigned origins.
Delay Reason Code Management: Manage and own the Delay Reason Code Update process, ensuring ocean consolidators update delay reason codes timely and accurately for managed origins/destinations.
Carrier and Network Space Planning:
Space Monitoring: Monitor vessel space requirements and work with Forwarder Control Tower and carriers to ensure space availability, identifying alternatives to balance cost and performance.
Carrier Allocation: Suggest changes to carrier allocation, carrier service, or routing to ensure DP on-time.
Network Optimization: Optimize the ocean network to mitigate potential logistics risks, balancing cost and performance.
Capacity Communication: Communicate closely with strategic carriers to ensure sufficient capacity and equipment reserved for shipment, suggesting available options to tackle space and equipment shortages.
Vendor Management:
Education: Educate vendors and service providers on logistics requirements.
Training: Conduct regular factory training and maintain factory training materials.
Shipment Monitoring: Communicate closely with GIS Regional Ops Team and consolidators to monitor shipment delivery status and impacts due to force majeure.
Ocean Contract Support:
RFQ Process: Support the Ocean and Air RFQ process by maintaining ocean local charges tables and Ocean TTP.
Carrier Allocation: Suggest ocean carrier allocation based on historical performance and cost in the control region.
Fulfillment Management: Manage ocean carrier space and equipment fulfillment and MQC achievement.
Booking and Documentation: Work proactively with carriers to smooth out booking, documentation, and EDI performance.
Air Shipment Planning and Management:
Capacity Management: Manage air capacity to meet business requirements.
Opportunity Identification: Identify different opportunities and routing in the market to support business needs.
Performance Monitoring: Manage and monitor air forwarder performance as per SOP/SLA.
RFQ Support: Support the Air RFQ process and suggest air forwarder allocation based on historical performance and cost.
Ad Hoc Programs: Manage ad hoc air programs or projects to meet business needs.
Data and Visibility:
Performance Data Management: Manage consolidator and air forwarder data performance, including OC, LP, vessel name/voyage, and delay reason code updates in GLV.
Data Support: Support the data integrality team on data exceptions and escalations.
Communication:
Regional Communication: Lead regional communication with different stakeholders, including public holiday plans, contingency, and risk assessments.
Presentation Preparation: Prepare, update, and initiate presentation materials for onboarding, education, and communication purposes.
Other Responsibilities:
Project Support: Support various logistics projects and initiatives to drive operational efficiency and support business development.
Policy Development: Develop, evaluate, and revise logistics policies, procedures, and plans.
Innovation Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on the latest innovations in logistics and competitor implementations.
Disruption Management: Address routine and unexpected disruptions in the supply chain to keep products moving.
Key Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Experience: Min 5-8 years proven experience in transportation, warehouse, or inventory management in regional operations.
Freight Operations: Solid experience in ocean and air freight operations within a multinational company is advantageous.
Logistics SOPs: Strong understanding of logistics standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the ability to communicate and implement them effectively.
Exception Management: Experience in managing exceptions and coordinating with consolidators, vendors, and carriers to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Performance Management: Proficiency in performance management, including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and forecast accuracy.
Space Planning: Expertise in carrier and ocean network space planning, vendor management, and contract support.
Skills and Attributes:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of databases, statistics applications, and logistics programs.
Software Skills: Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.

Organization: Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Cultural Experience: Experience working with Western companies is preferred.
