Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a senior operations professional for the Loan Ops team. You will develop goals, organize work, set priorities, monitor activities, and drive high‑quality execution in a hybrid work environment.

The role combines strategic program development with hands‑on leadership, including performance management, staff training, budget input, and cross‑functional collaboration. A college degree is required; ACCA or related qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work within the Loan Ops team.
  • Responsible to set up and monitor the most effective processes are in place with a focus on quality control.
  • Conducts performance management and career development processes, provides input for staffing and disciplinary actions and provides hands‑on training to staff
  • Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross‑functional and technically difficult
  • Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
  • Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management
  • Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas
  • Provides input and support to budget management process.

Major Duties

  • Related Industry qualification (e.g. ACCA) is preferred.
Salary Range

$85,900 - 145,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well‑being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
