Job description

Office Locations: Chicago, Indianapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, Phoenix, St. Louis, San Diego, Tampa, Washington D.C.

Ready to shape the future of our lawyers? We are seeking a Legal Talent Development Manager with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment, including attorney development, talent management, or a related area. This newly created role presents a unique opportunity to help us reimagine lawyer development at Quarles while building upon a strong foundation of established programs and resources.

As a firm, we are investing in and expanding the Talent Development function. While substantive legal training has historically been managed within the practice groups, this role will help us transition it into a centralized Talent Development team.

This role will work with a subset of our practice groups to build on existing initiatives, introduce new ideas, and expand programming where needed. From designing high-impact legal skills training and mentoring programs to exploring AI-driven development approaches, you will partner closely with the Director of Talent Development and firm leadership to directly influence how our lawyers grow and succeed. This is a highly collaborative role with meaningful responsibility and visibility across the firm.

What We Offer
  • Supportive, adaptable work environment
  • Career development through mentoring and training

  • Support mentoring, sponsorship, and coaching programs, including program design enhancements.
  • Advise and coach attorneys on career development, performance, and advancement.
  • Analyze feedback and evaluation data to identify trends and continuously improve development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Talent Development team and other stakeholders on firmwide talent development priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members and contribute to overall Talent Development team success.
Who Are You
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience in attorney development, legal talent management, career advising, or similar areas.
