Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Enterprise Manager for Internal Compliance Reporting to lead a team of compliance professionals and ensure timely investigation, review, and analysis of ethics or regulatory concerns within the ICR scope.

The role partners with hospitals, divisions, Corporate departments, Legal, IT, HR, Internal Audit, Security and other stakeholders to strengthen the Ethics and Compliance program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or related field is required.
• 5+ years in Healthcare, Ethics and Compliance or equivalent leadership role.
• 1-3+ years of people management and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supervises a team of compliance professionals for investigation and resolution of concerns.
• Ensures timely review and resolution of regulatory compliance issues with leadership and SMEs.
• Collaborates cross-functionally to implement timely corrective actions.
• Prepares case reviews and consultations with legal counsel and affected departments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Enterprise Manager for Internal Compliance Reporting (ICR) within the HCA Healthcare Ethics and Compliance function, will lead a team of compliance professionals and ensure timely investigation, review and analysis of ethics or regulatory compliance concerns within scope of ICR. Thee Enterprise Manager will provide compliance operational leadership for assigned areas of responsibility and effectively collaborate with hospitals, divisions, Corporate departments, Legal, Clinical Services, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Information Technology, Security, and other business stakeholders to ensure compliance related incidents or concerns are thoroughly reviewed, regulatory obligations are met, corrective actions are implemented, and compliance risks are effectively mitigated.

The Enterprise Manager will serve as a subject matter expert and enterprise resource for healthcare regulatory compliance in assigned areas and should have demonstrated experience in the applicable of healthcare fraud and abuse laws including but not limited Federal Stark Law and the Anti-kickback Statute. The Enterprise Manager will also support enterprise-wide investigations, data analytics, regulatory reporting, compliance education, continuous process improvement, and strategic initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness of the Ethics and Compliance Program.

What you will do in this role:

• Leads and supervises a team of compliance professionals in the review, investigation, analysis and stakeholder coordination for resolution of regulatory compliance concerns reported to Ethics and Compliance.
• Ensures timely review, investigation and resolution of reported regulatory compliance concerns in collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts in the corporate office, divisions, hospitals and other business units throughout the enterprise.
• Works collaboratively and effectively cross-functionally across the enterprise in the resolution of regulatory compliance concerns or incidents reported to ICR to ensure appropriate corrective action is implemented timely and consistently in outcomes.
• Prepares timely and accurate case reviews and consultations with legal counsel, affected corporate department, division, hospital and other business units of the company to ensure accuracy of the information and consistency in corrective action.
• Ensures timely completion of case summaries and other business records in connection with the review and resolution of the reported concern and that such documentation is retained consistently with company policies and procedures for record retention.
• Leads standing multi-disciplinary meetings and/or workgroups for case reviews and/or legal analysis to determine compliance with Federal or State laws and regulations or HCA Healthcare policy and procedures and appropriate corrective action.
• Implements and maintains process improvements to ensure timeliness of resolution of EMTALA or other regulatory incident reports and enhance the Internal Compliance Reporting processes.
• Serves as a resource enterprise wide in interpretation of Corporate Ethics and Compliance Program policies and procedures.
• Promotes compliance with the HCA Healthcare Code of Conduct and Ethics and Compliance Program policies and procedures.
• Leads training and education activities in assigned areas related to the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Program.
• Delivers a high-quality work product which demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
• Participates in the on-boarding and integration of newly acquired healthcare systems or facilities to ensure Ethics and Compliance Program standards and policies and procedures.
• Develops and implements process improvement changes, as needed for program efficiency and effectiveness.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, Health Sciences preferred
• 5+ years of experience in Healthcare, Ethics and Compliance or equivalent leadership role
• 1-3+ years of experience in people management and leadership
