Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC, seeks a Principal Associate, Field Operations to advance field and government relations strategies across states. You will recruit organizers, manage campaigns, coordinate with Pew teams, and develop advocacy materials to advance policy objectives.

Hybrid work with core in-office days and telework four flex weeks per year; occasional travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Typically six years of related experience; experience in two areas required.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building with partners and stakeholders.
• Experience managing projects and consultants; lobbying/advocacy campaign experience preferred.
• Willingness to register as a lobbyist in multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent written and oral communication; earned media experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, vet, and recruit field organizers and partner groups.
• Manage development, day-to-day management, and execution of work plans.
• Maintain up-to-date political knowledge across multiple states; internal thought leader.
• Coordinate organizers' activities across Pew projects.
• Develop advocacy materials including fact sheets, letters, op-eds, etc.
• Track legislation and share summaries with program teams.
• Support Pew-wide government relations activities.
