The Client
Our client is a leading international financial institution with a strong global presence and expertise across corporate and institutional banking, structured finance, capital markets, and lending. They are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Project Finance Syndications professional to join their New York operations, offering the opportunity to lead syndication and distribution activities, develop relationships with institutional loan investors, and collaborate with international banking teams to support complex financing transactions across a diverse range of industries.
What you will achieve in this role
- Develop and manage a global network of institutional loan investors, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, managed accounts, infrastructure funds, and debt funds.
- Lead syndication and distribution activities for infrastructure and project finance transactions, with additional exposure to commercial real estate financing.
- Develop and execute distribution strategies, providing recommendations on underwriting decisions, transaction structures, pricing, tenors, and financial metrics.
- Manage primary market sell-down processes for transactions in which the bank acts as Active Bookrunner, while supporting broader balance sheet distribution objectives.
- Originate and execute secondary loan market transactions, including the sourcing and distribution of loan assets.
- Partner with origination teams to identify new business opportunities, support client pitches, and provide strategic guidance on financing structures and underwriting opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of investor appetite, market conditions, and emerging trends to inform transaction execution and internal decision-making.
- Prepare market intelligence, financial analyses, and presentations to support senior leadership and broader syndications activities.
- Ensure all transactions adhere to established risk limits, distribution targets, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
What you must bring to this role
- Strong knowledge of the syndicated loan market, including primary and secondary market activities, loan distribution, and underwriting practices.
- Experience in infrastructure and project finance syndications, with an understanding of transaction structuring, pricing, and institutional investor requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors and other participants in the syndicated loan market.
- Strong understanding of banking products, credit analysis, and legal documentation relevant to syndicated lending transactions.
- Advanced financial and quantitative capabilities, with the ability to evaluate transaction structures, financial metrics, and associated risks.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external investors.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Sound judgment and the ability to identify, assess, and manage financial, conduct, reputational, and operational risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. German language proficiency is considered an asset.
