Job summary

ING Americas is seeking a Vice President in Infrastructure Finance to originate and execute transactions across the Americas. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the infrastructure sector, with a strong focus on project financing and excellent credit skills.

Candidates will be responsible for driving the credit process, structuring deals, and engaging with various departments. A comprehensive benefits package includes a salary between $185,000 and $240,000, health benefits, and a 401k plan.

Job description

Wholesale Banking | Sector-Based & Specialized Lending | Infrastructure Finance, Vice President | NYC

We are seeking an Infrastructure Finance banker to join ING’s Sector based & Specialized Lending (SSL) platform in the Americas. The successful candidate will combine sector expertise with strong credit and execution skills, partnering closely with coverage, execution, portfolio, agency teams and other product partners across Wholesale Banking to originate and deliver infrastructure financings in the Americas (including Latin America).

Responsibilities

• Work independently and coordinate with other team members to originate and execute new infrastructure transactions in the Americas.
• Drive the credit process from inception to financial close, including preparing internal memos and credit approval packages, and support senior Deal Principals on complex transactions.
• For straightforward transactions, structure and execute assuming responsibility for all aspects of the deal including due diligence, negotiation of terms, final credit approval, and processing final documentation and financial close.
• Engage with other departments (financial markets, Debt Capital Markets, Research) to ensure coverage of all aspects of the transaction.
• Process amendments, waivers, etc., in accordance with ING policies and procedures in a timely manner.
• Steer the origination narrative and related marketing materials for Lending, including client pitch content, deal teasers, and internal credit/committee presentations.
• Keep abreast of current market trends in the infrastructure market in the Americas.
• Assist in the development and mentoring of junior team members.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Planning, or closely related field with emphasis on quantitative skills.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial experience, preferably within the Infrastructure sector.
• Specialized knowledge across concession/PPP/P3 project financing, NAV-based financings, infrastructure corporate/HoldCo lending, and acquisition and leveraged infrastructure finance.
• Extensive network of contacts in the infrastructure finance field among banks, non-bank lenders, advisors and sponsors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong Excel modeling skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of core financial documents (Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Balance Sheet).
• Knowledge of industry and company dynamics in the Infrastructure project finance sector.
• Proven understanding of Corporate and Investment Banking markets.
• Previous credit analysis background.

Salary and Benefits
