Summary

You’ll join Guidewire’s Product Strategy organization, helping make complex insurance technology easier to understand, adopt, and use. The team supports operational excellence, transformative innovation, customer-centricity, and the adoption of AI, cloud, and data capabilities across Guidewire’s products and developer experiences.

As Manager, Information Experience, you’ll lead a distributed team that creates connected, user-centered information across technical documentation, developer content, in-product guidance, tutorials, video, and other channels. You’ll shape trusted, structured, AI‑ready knowledge that improves customer and developer outcomes while partnering across Product, Engineering, Design, Learning, and subject‑matter teams. This is an opportunity to help Guidewire transform how the world’s property and casualty insurers do business while contributing to a culture grounded in determination, collaboration, continuous improvement, and bravery.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of technical writers and information professionals, creating an inclusive environment where people can grow, contribute, and do meaningful work.

  • Set priorities and guide delivery across technical documentation, developer and API content, in‑product assistance, UI content, tutorials, video, walkthroughs, and related information experiences.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Learning, and subject‑matter experts to plan content around user needs, product goals, customer adoption, and measurable outcomes.

  • Champion persona‑ and task‑based information experiences for business and technical audiences, helping users understand, implement, and realize value from Guidewire products.

  • Guide the evolution of content into trusted, structured, reusable, and AI‑ready knowledge through information architecture, content models, metadata, taxonomies, governance, and content reuse.

  • Promote practical and responsible use of AI in content planning, creation, review, evaluation, and maintenance, with appropriate human oversight and attention to quality.

  • Use analytics, search and assistant insights, user feedback, and research to evaluate effectiveness, improve findability and retrieval, and prioritize enhancements.

  • Improve authoring, review, publishing, and maintenance workflows; lead cross‑functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, and remain hands‑on when needed.

At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI—empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data‑driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

Required

  • Seven or more years of experience in technical writing, information development, content design, or content strategy for enterprise software or SaaS, including at least three years managing teams.

  • Strong people leadership, coaching, feedback, and team‑development skills.

  • Ability to think critically about user journeys and create holistic information experiences across multiple formats and channels.

  • Experience with information architecture, structured or modular content, content strategy, metadata, reuse, taxonomy, or governance.

  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn cloud platforms, APIs, developer workflows, and software technologies quickly.

  • Experience using analytics, user feedback, research, search data, or other evidence to improve content and user outcomes.

  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts such as prompting, retrieval, grounding, evaluation, and human oversight.

  • Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data‑driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to prioritize, lead change, navigate ambiguity, and work effectively across distributed, cross‑functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, project‑management, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Background in developer documentation for data and analytics solutions.

  • Experience supporting search, conversational assistants, retrieval‑augmented generation systems, or other AI‑enabled information experiences.

  • Proficiency with DITA, Markdown, Git or GitHub, OpenAPI or Swagger, static site generators, docs‑as‑code, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.

  • Knowledge of automated quality checks, taxonomies, and large structured content sets.

  • Experience with UX writing, accessibility, localization, video, diagrams, or interactive walkthroughs.

Your Impact

We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. During your first six months, you’ll build relationships across Product, Engineering, Design, Learning, and subject‑matter teams; understand the needs of key user personas; assess current content, workflows, and measurement practices; and establish priorities for improving the information experience. You’ll define practical measures for findability, content quality, reuse, user satisfaction, search and assistant effectiveness, and delivery efficiency, then use those insights to guide improvements and demonstrate progress. Your work will help customers and developers adopt Guidewire’s cloud, data, and AI capabilities, support product growth and customer success, and influence how trusted knowledge is created and used across the company.
