Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is seeking a Manager of Access and Wellbeing Programs to lead and grow inclusive experiences for visitors with disabilities through on-site, off-site, and virtual formats.

With responsibilities spanning program development, volunteer supervision, and cross-department collaboration, the role advances accessibility, education, and community engagement across diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, museum education, special education, art education, or related field.
• Three to five years of experience in museum education, community-based arts programming, special education, or disability advocacy.
• Understanding of the ADA and Universal Design Principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage access tours, wellbeing engagement, and specialized programs for people with disabilities.
• Collaborate across departments for planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs.
• Supervise day-to-day needs of access volunteers and update training resources.
• Collaborate with Volunteer Programs and Training to recruit Access Volunteers.
• Design and deliver ongoing evaluation, enrichment, and training for access guides.
• Lead wellbeing programs and tours for visitors with disabilities as needed.
• Maintain partnerships with local facilities and disability advocacy groups.
• Develop museum access tools such as sensory kits and large print binders.
• Support accessibility staffing reviews and staff training on universal design.
• Support internal departments in responding to access inquiries.
