The Restaurant Store is actively seeking a Manager In Training to assist in daily operations at a retail location. Under the Regional Manager, you will drive sales, marketing, staffing, inventory control, and customer relations as part of a structured 6-month training program.

Upon completion, you’ll transition into a permanent management role that best fits your skills and progress within the company culture and values. This program emphasizes leadership growth and cross-department exposure.

Qualifications

2+ years retail or supply chain management experience.
No degree required; skills and experience valued.
Proficiency with MS Office; CRM systems and project management tools preferred.
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Support the management of a ~30,000 sq.ft. warehouse/retail operation and lead operations in the Branch Manager's absence.
Maintain understanding of daily functions and operational needs; assist scheduling and customer issues.
Develop and train 15–25 team members and model company values.
Utilize DISC profiling to build a cohesive, high-performing team.
Maintain accurate inventory control and ensure regulatory and quality standards.
Support location department managers with daily operations (inventory, merchandising, sales).
Ensure company standards and procedures are followed, including handling escalated issues and incidents.
Support Membership and Gold Membership growth in local market.
Support TRS.com growth across customer base.
Manage safety and maintenance of building and equipment.

Job Summary

A Manager In Training with The Restaurant Store is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a retail location. Under direction of the Regional Manager, the Manager In Training is responsible for accomplishing a variety of operational goals encompassing sales, marketing, staffing, inventory control, and customer relations. Candidates are enrolled in a 6 month, comprehensive Manager In Training Program upon hire, providing in depth guidance on general leadership skills and philosophies within The Restaurant Store Setting, and extensive trainings in all departments of the operation. Upon completion of the Manager in Training program, candidates will be placed into a permanent management position that best fits their skills, experience, and development throughout the program.

Support the management of a ~30,000sq.ft. warehouse / retail operation in business-to-business sales environment and lead operations in absence of the Branch Manager
Maintain a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the location’s daily functions and operational needs; manage customer sales issues and assist Branch Manager with scheduling needs
Develop and train 15-25 team members to ensure consistent processes and procedures while role modeling our Company values
Understand and utilize a deep understanding of DISC profiling to build a cohesive and high-performing team
Maintain accurate inventory control and ensure that products or services comply with regulatory and quality standards
Support department managers at the location with daily operations (inventory, merchandising, sales)
Ensure that Company standards and procedures are followed, including management of escalated customer and/or employee complaints, incident reports, and legal actions
Support Membership and Gold Membership growth year over year within the local market
Support the growth and utilization of TRS.com across our customer base
Manage the overall safety and maintenance needs of the building and equipment

Physical Requirements

Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 9 hours/day.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in retail and/or supply chain management overseeing site operations and sales

Education
