Job summary

McLaren in Michigan is seeking an Imaging Services Administrator to provide overall technical direction and administration for imaging staff, ensuring testing and procedures meet hospital, system, and regulatory standards. The role coordinates imaging with other medical functions, acts as a resource to staff and physicians, and ensures budgets, quality, and customer service objectives are met.

Preferred candidates have supervisory experience and ACR accreditation knowledge, plus Radiology

Qualifications

  • Five years of job-related imaging experience.
  • Registry in imaging discipline and current BLS certification.
  • Experience with regulatory standards and audits is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and administers imaging procedures in accordance with hospital, system and regulatory standards.
  • Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
  • Assists with developing and administering budgets to meet departmental goals and monitor variances.
  • Serves as a technical resource to staff for resolving complex problems and responding to incidents or patient complaints.
  • Assists with recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies and minor purchases.
  • Fosters smooth imaging services functions through timely resolution of disruptions.
  • Ensures attainment of objectives through staff development, training and evaluation.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, federal and governmental regulations and laws.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job description

Provides overall technical direction and administration to imaging services personnel, ensuring system of testing operates efficiently and effectively. Regularly reviews and revises, as necessary, imaging services standards and ensures diagnostic procedures performed comply with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards. Coordinates provision of imaging services with other medical functions and serves as technical resource for departmental personnel. As an expert in the assigned unit, is a resource person to both staff and physicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards.
  2. Assists with ensuring quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
  3. Assists with developing, and administering capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives. Implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.
  4. Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and in investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports and/or patient complaints.
  5. Assists with recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies and minor equipment purchases.
  6. Fosters smoothly running imaging services functions through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
  7. Ensures the attainment of objectives through the selection, development, training and evaluation of imaging services staff.
  8. Ensures that all imaging services activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal and governmental regulations and laws.
  9. Performs other related duties as required and directed.
Required:
  • Five years of job related experience.
  • Registry in imaging discipline.
  • Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
  • Supervisory experience within the healthcare industry
  • Current knowledge of ACR accreditation requirements and audits.
  • Certified Radiology Administrator
  • Knowledge of P4P impact on hospitals.
