Job Summary

The Imaging Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and supervising all of the Imaging department services and programs. The Director ensures the quality and satisfaction of all Imaging services provided by the department. Working in conjunction with the Medical Director, the Imaging Director ensures both departments provide high quality Imaging services to patients and to the Medical Staff. The Director is responsible for the leadership and direction of various managers and team leaders within Imaging services.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school (Required)
  • Master's Degree or other degree in MBA, MHA, or related field (Preferred)
Work Experience
  • 7 or more years of radiology experience (Required)
  • 7 or more years of progressive leadership experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)
Essential Functions
  • Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
  • Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
  • Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers/users.
  • Uses correct terminology.
  • Conforms to required style and format.
  • Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for the role.
  • Understands equipment operation.
  • Maintains equipment in working order and troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Uses technology to increase productivity and adapts to new technology.
  • Performs administrative duties within the Imaging Department.
  • Maintains the operations of the Imaging department within the fiscal and productivity guidelines of the PPMH.
  • Manages the human resources of the Imaging Department and any other department assigned.
  • Oversees and handles any patient and physician complaints.
  • Ensures that staffing is adequate to handle the workload.
  • Oversees and performs some yearly evaluations of staff and oversees the QA processes of the Imaging Department.
  • Controls both labor and non‑labor expenses.
  • Ensures personnel receive the training needed to provide high quality and safe procedures performed in Imaging.
  • Creates the operating budget and capital budget.
  • Develops overall strategic plan that positions Imaging Services as provider of choice in the marketplace.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to improve timeliness and service to those areas.
  • Ensures that staff provide very good customer service.
  • Monitors patient satisfaction regularly.
  • Informs staff about customer service expectations.
  • Follows up on complaints or service breakdowns timely, including retraining or discipline of staff when necessary.
  • Ensures that high quality exams are performed by the staff.
  • Develops systems to monitor staff performance and competency.
  • Ensures that staff perform exams according to established protocols.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings and keeps staff updated on any protocol changes or new protocols.
