Responsibilities

  • Integrate activities and resources of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

  • Manage daily operations of the PACS system.
  • Coordinate PACS services with departments and staff.
  • Communicate system changes and upgrades to users.
  • Supervise technologists and monitor performance improvement.
  • Conduct in-service training and competency testing.
  • Assign staff and workload based on daily priorities.
  • Interact with physician support staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a resource for staff technologists

Job description

• Integrate activities and resources of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Mammography, PET, and office support
• Assist the department manager with overall leadership and management of the Radiology/Imaging Department
• Promote excellent patient care, cost-effective use of material and human resources, professional growth, and staff job satisfaction
• Maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethics
• Manage daily operations of the PACS system
• Coordinate PACS services with departments, physicians, and physician office staff
• Communicate system changes and upgrades to users
• Directly supervise technologists
• Monitor and report ongoing performance improvement
• Conduct staff in-service training and competency testing
• Assign staff and workload requirements according to changing daily priorities
• Interact and communicate with physician support staff and other healthcare professionals
• Act as a resource for staff technologists

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One of the following required certifications/licences: CRT, ARRT Radiography, NMT, ARDMS, CT, RHM, ARMRIT, or RCS
  • BLS Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of radiology care
  • Knowledge of quality personnel management
  • Knowledge of communication skills and customer service
  • Ability to monitor departmental operations for governmental and accrediting-agency compliance
  • Basic computer, data entry, and statistical evaluation skills
  • Communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act as a resource for staff technologists
