Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Manager I to support the Director by overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programs and projects. You will ensure efficient operations and seamless service delivery to inmates, while supervising staff within the Division.

This non-telework position reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, Florida, and involves coordinating major projects, data analysis, and continuous program improvement to meet Division goals.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
• Must possess three (3) years of supervisory experience overseeing projects.

• Researches and evaluates inmate needs, recommending new evidence-based programs and improvements to existing ones.
• Collects and analyzes data to decide which programs should be adopted, improved, or eliminated for efficient operations.
• Handles special assignments, conducts research, and coordinates projects to improve Division activities.
• Supervises staff, manages workloads, evaluates performance, ensures training compliance, and helps with hiring and disciplinary actions.

This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry in the Career and Technical Education Services and Grants sections.

The purpose of the Manager I is to support the Director by overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programs and projects, ensuring efficient operations, seamless service delivery to inmates, and effective supervision of staff within the Division.
