A Brief Overview

Stanford Health Care is seeking a leader to oversee large-scale strategic and cross-functional improvement programs in health equity. This role involves collaboration with the Chief Health Equity Officer (CHEO), clinical and operational leaders, and multidisciplinary teams to drive patient-centered health equity strategies, including coordinating actionable initiatives, supporting workgroups on health equity measurement and social determinants of health (SDOH), establishing a multicultural workgroup, inventorying health equity efforts, and quality improvement action plans. The position will also monitor and evaluate data-driven strategies to reduce disparities in access, quality of care, and clinical outcomes, focusing on key service lines, while engaging with employee resource groups, patient advisory councils, and community groups. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in service leader culture, navigation of matrixed organizations, strategic and program leadership, project management, and the ability to foster relationships across diverse internal and external stakeholders.

What You Will Do
  1. Provide oversight of the development, implementation, and evaluation of the strategic plan for health equity across the organization, aligned with the strategic and operational plans for Stanford Health Care & Stanford Medicine.
  2. Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering input, buy-in, and accountability from individuals in clinical, operational, patient, and family voice areas.
  3. Focus on internal talent management and retention to drive succession planning and future workforce planning, ensuring leadership can progress towards strategic goals.
  4. Partner with Operations Managers to identify and develop leadership needs and internal capacity, facilitating strategic changes in project scope or assignments.
  5. Serve as liaison and partner with management guidance teams on access, quality of care, patient experience, and clinical and health outcomes.
  6. Create a team culture rooted in psychological safety, respect, and accountability.
  7. Prioritize objectives with excellent project management, setting goals, communicating broadly, developing timelines, and measuring impact.
  8. Manage and assess project scope and programs using standard improvement tools and templates.
  9. Oversee health equity program design and structure for key initiatives within the leadership division.
  10. Develop strategic input for local leadership regarding business objectives related to health equity.
  11. Collaborate with departments and physician groups, developing relationships and understanding workflows.
  12. Maintain accurate, timely, and auditable project records and cost estimates within department guidelines.
  13. Provide leadership, coordination, and support to team members.
Education Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college is required.
Experience Qualifications
  • Five years of extensive related work experience with increasing responsibility in administrative or managerial roles.
  • At least three years of managerial-level experience is preferred.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $68.46 - $90.70 per hour. The final salary will be determined based on various factors, including experience, education, and training.
