About PADV

Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to ending domestic violence and empowering survivors to build lives of safety, dignity, and independence.

Through emergency shelter, supportive services, advocacy, prevention education, and community partnerships, PADV provides critical resources to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence throughout metropolitan Atlanta.

As PADV enters its next chapter, we are focused on strengthening our organizational foundation, advancing operational excellence, and expanding our community impact.

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and results-oriented grants professional who can help strengthen our institutional funding portfolio while identifying new opportunities to advance our mission.

Position Summary

The Manager, Grants Strategy & Institutional Giving, is responsible for developing compelling grant proposals, managing the grant lifecycle, researching new funding opportunities, and supporting the growth and diversification of PADV’s institutional funding portfolio.

This is an opportunity for a skilled grants professional who brings exceptional writing ability, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to identifying funding opportunities.

The successful candidate will be more than a grant writer. They will understand how to evaluate funding opportunities, connect organizational priorities to funder interests, and contribute thoughtful recommendations about where PADV should invest its grant development efforts.

Working collaboratively with Development leadership, Programs, and Finance, this individual will play a critical role in securing funding, strengthening grant management practices, and supporting PADV’s long-term financial sustainability.

We are looking for someone who brings creativity to opportunity identification, discipline to execution, and sound judgment to funding decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, persuasive, and evidence-based narratives that connect PADV’s mission, services, outcomes, and community impact to funder priorities.
  • Collaborate with program and finance colleagues to develop proposal budgets, measurable objectives, and supporting documentation.
  • Translate complex program information and community needs into accessible, compelling funding narratives.
  • Maintain and continually improve a library of proposal language, organizational information, program outcomes, and supporting materials.
  • Ensure grant applications are accurate, competitive, compliant, and submitted on time.
2. Funding Research, Prospecting & Opportunity Assessment
  • Proactively identify prospective funding opportunities from private foundations, corporate foundations, community foundations, government agencies, and other institutional sources.
  • Monitor funding trends, grant announcements, funder priorities, and emerging opportunities relevant to PADV’s mission.
  • Research and qualify prospective funders based on mission alignment, eligibility, funding history, award potential, and organizational fit.
  • Assess the potential value of funding opportunities, including restrictions, match requirements, reporting obligations, and operational considerations.
  • Prepare informed recommendations to Development leadership regarding which opportunities PADV should pursue, prioritize, or decline.
  • Identify opportunities for multiyear support, general operating funding, and capacity‑building investments.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar, including application deadlines, renewals, award periods, reporting requirements, and other key deliverables.
  • Coordinate the full grant lifecycle, from application development through award documentation, reporting, and renewal.
  • Maintain accurate grant records, correspondence, award agreements, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Finance and program leaders to monitor grant deliverables, approved budgets, expenditures, and performance commitments.
  • Prepare timely and accurate funder reports, including narrative and programmatic information.
  • Identify potential compliance concerns, reporting challenges, or funding risks and elevate them appropriately.
  • Support adherence to applicable federal, state, local, and private grant requirements.
4. Institutional Funder Relationships & Stewardship
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with existing institutional funders.
  • Support Development leadership in cultivating prospective foundation, corporate, and government funding partners.
  • Coordinate funder communications, stewardship updates, site visits, and relevant relationship‑building activities.
  • Research funder interests and priorities to inform engagement and proposal development.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing institutional relationships and support future funding commitments.
  • Represent PADV professionally and communicate its mission and impact with credibility and confidence.
  • Track grant activity, including applications submitted, dollars requested, awards secured, renewal performance, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Maintain an organized, forward‑looking pipeline of prospective and existing institutional funding.
  • Prepare regular funding updates and portfolio summaries for Development leadership.
  • Analyze grant outcomes and funder feedback to identify opportunities to improve proposal competitiveness.
  • Contribute insights and recommendations to institutional funding plans and revenue projections.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify grant processes, strengthen internal collaboration, and improve overall effectiveness.
  • Leverage research tools, grant databases, CRM systems, and responsible AI‑enabled technology to improve productivity, research quality, and proposal development while protecting confidential information.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Build productive working relationships with Development, Finance, Programs, and all relevant organizational stakeholders.
  • Coordinate information gathering, application development, reporting, and grant‑related deadlines across departments.
  • Support stronger grant‑readiness through effective documentation, program data, and outcome reporting.
  • Contribute ideas for aligning funding opportunities with organizational capacity and strategic priorities.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset.
