Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA, is seeking a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to lead a ground support equipment and tooling team. The role focuses on directing non-exempt staff, ensuring maintenance and repair of GSE/Tooling, and driving best practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of related experience OR a Bachelor's degree with 1 year of related experience.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
• Minimum 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.
• Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of non-exempt employees responsible for the maintenance/repair of Ground Support Equipment, Tooling and Special Test Equipment (STE).
• Leads the GSE/Tooling team in executing best practices following PrOP documents, TOs and owner manuals.
• Providing direction and mentorship to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) mechanics, machine shop and tooling personnel in the GSE/Tooling area.
• Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work orders in support of overall maintenance of equipment.
• Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
• Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
• Ensure proper planning of work scheduled for the machine shop, setting priorities.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma / G.E.D. and 5 years of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling/production OR Bachelors' Degree and 1year of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling/production
• Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
• Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.
• Ability to work 1st or 2nd Shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 5 years of Aircraft Manufacturing experience
• Previous Leadership, Supervisory or Management experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
