Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Manufacturing Engineering 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Manufacturing Engineering organization. This leadership role is located in Clearfield, UT.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager Manufacturing Engineer 3 will support the requirements of an expanding and technologically diverse manufacturing assembly line. The manager will have direct budget responsibility, and day to day management for approximately 50-90 Engineers and 4-6 Engineering Managers, which will include the following responsibilities:

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree AND 7 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing OR Master's Degree AND 5 years of engineering experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing.
  • Must have 3 year of prior leadership experience in related field.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM Degree.
  • Special Program Access.
  • Knowledge of aircraft operations, maintenance and aircraft scheduling.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft scheduling.
  • Technical management experience with expertise in both manufacturing process development and production process engineering.
  • Composite fabrication or assembly experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $137,800.00 - $206,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
