Job summary

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team seeks a Manager, Application Engineering in Orlando, FL. You will lead application, UX/UI, and QA engineers across multiple projects to design, develop and deploy internal analytics applications.

You’ll guide the SDLC in waterfall and agile, mentor staff, work with product owners, and push AI-enabled solutions to improve decision-making.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of technology experience
• 5+ years of software development building web-based applications
• 2+ years leading technical teams specializing in cloud-based web application development
• Proven influential technical leadership experience in software development and project execution
• Demonstrated ability to champion team processes, balance priorities, manage risks, and ship products on-time
• Demonstrated ability to champion AI adoption within an engineering team, setting direction on where AI tools can accelerate delivery and mentoring others in using them effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead application engineering for multiple complex projects to drive internal cloud-based analytical systems
• Manage the SDLC using waterfall and agile techniques across multiple projects
• Champion the integration of AI and machine learning into internal applications
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams
• Lead direct reports and manage team members in a matrixed organization
• Collaborate with Product Owners to clarify and prioritize scope
• Partner with Decision Science teams to integrate data science advancements
• Represent the team with senior leaders and partners
• Advocate for software development best practices
• Drive evaluation and adoption of emerging tools and platforms
