Job Description

Purpose and Scope:

The Manager, Foundation Advancement, in collaboration with the Director of Donor Relations, implements strategies to expand donor engagement, stewardship, and philanthropic partnerships and supports logistics on Foundation events. This position manages and assists with evaluation of programs that strengthen relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations to increase giving and sustain long-term support for Lone Star College initiatives.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Manages Foundation Employee Giving logistics, planning, marketing, and execution in collaboration with the direction of the Foundation's Director of Donor Relations
  2. Performs basic budget duties, such as issuing purchase orders, tracking expenditures and preparing basic budget reports
  3. Assists with development of and implements strategies to enhance assigned portfolio's donor engagement, increase donor retention, and promote giving to LSC Foundation by identifying, cultivating, tracking and soliciting donor and donor prospects
  4. Manages a portfolio of donors and donor prospects to educate and engage in LSC Foundation's work with the College and ultimately solicit a monetary donation
  5. Assists with the development of and implements donor relations and stewardship plans for assigned portfolio that strengthens relationships and increases donations
  6. Represents the Foundation at internal and external events, cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners
  7. Builds and maintains strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including but not limited to Alumni Relations, Industry Partnerships, Deans, program Directors, and administrative staff to help align donor engagement with institutional goals
  8. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
  • Basic understanding of development, fund raising principles, and customer relationship management
  • Highly organized, self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple assignments, meet urgent deadlines, and cope with competing demands simultaneously
  • Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite, database and document production, and web-research
  • Understanding and adherence to the Association of Fundraising Professional's Donor Bill of Rights
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Professional maturity, positive attitude, persistence and resourcefulness, with the ability to quickly build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule and Conditions
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $54,528 - $62,708
