As the Manager, Forecasting & Data Solutions, you will own our internal planning and forecast systems' development, optimization, and ongoing maintenance. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of our forecasting models and maintaining seamless integration between forecasting tools, audience data sources, within the broader sales planning process. You'll drive actionable insights that directly inform revenue strategies and operational efficiency by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams—including Product, Sales Planning, Ad Ops, Audience Solutions, and Planning & Operations Analytics.
Responsibilities:
•Oversee Forecasting Systems: Monitor and manage the internal forecasting platform, ensuring consistent accuracy and proactively resolving anomalies or bugs by liaising with the Planning department on issues and technical teams.
•Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with Sales Planning, Ad Ops, and Product teams—and serve as the liaison with audience data platforms—to ensure forecasting tools align with actionable insights and strategic planning initiatives.
•Quality Assurance & Optimization: Conduct regular quality assurance on forecasting models and audience segment integrations, ensuring data fidelity and improving workflows through targeted enhancements.
•Data-Driven Reporting: Work closely with our Planning and Operations Analytics Manager to develop and deliver concise forecasting reports and dashboards that capture critical planning dimensions such as geo availability, inventory trends, seasonality, and market dynamics.
•Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify gaps in existing forecasting models and propose data inputs, parameters, or system enhancements that better reflect evolving business strategies and market conditions.
•Documentation & Training: Produce and maintain detailed documentation and training materials on forecasting tools to support cross-departmental understanding and utilization.
•Subject Matter Expertise: Act as an internal subject matter expert during user acceptance testing and new product rollouts, providing strategic recommendations to optimize forecasting accuracy and drive revenue growth. Manage day-to-day operations of the internal forecasting system—monitoring accuracy, investigating anomalies, and escalating bugs to the appropriate technical teams.
Requirements:
•3–6+ years of experience in media planning, ad tech platforms, forecasting tools, or data operations.
•Strong familiarity with digital media workflows, particularly in OTT/CTV environments.
•Experience with DMPs/DSPs and/or forecasting or planning tools such as PIO, Salesforce, or proprietary platforms.
•Analytical mindset with a high attention to detail and a strong ability to troubleshoot, test, and optimize.
•Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear action items.
•Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple departments and manage complex workflows independently.
•Experience supporting or training internal users on tools and systems is a plus.

Pay Range
$100,000 - $103,000 USD

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
