Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Reads and interprets financial statements; builds business cases with budgets and forecasts
  • Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of fleet assets
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory and safety compliance to reduce risk
  • Understands policies and procedures to operate in business areas
  • Understands company structure to resolve problems and achieve objectives
  • Coaches and develops others using career development tools
  • Investigates incidents and determines responses and next steps
  • Manages physical assets and allocates resources for cost efficiency
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
  • ASE certification required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles

Responsibilities

Job description

  • Maintain a safe, reliable, cost-efficient fleet for the company
  • Meet operational needs and oversee compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Manage automotive assets and control automotive costs
  • Manage and coach employees, including automotive supervisors, specialists, management trainees and administrative assistants
  • Analyze daily, weekly and monthly Fleet reports and develop action plans to meet department goals
  • Manage automotive regulatory compliance and automotive safety
  • Ensure vehicles are properly licensed, permitted and registered with state and federal authorities
  • Create remedial action plans and follow up with automotive staff to ensure resolution
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to determine which vehicles require repair or disposal
  • Review reports to license/permit active assets
  • Provide staff development through coaching, feedback, and career goals/plans
  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve individual and group performance issues
  • Identify opportunities for advancing skills and capabilities
Requirements
  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Employer will not sponsor visas for position
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Applies financial knowledge in order to read and interpret financial statements, develops business cases using financial information (e.g. cost, revenue forecasts, etc.) plan and effectively manage budgets
  • Possesses knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation
  • Applies legal, regulatory and safety compliance knowledge to reduce company risk
  • Demonstrates an understanding of policies/procedures to situations and operations in a business area
  • Displays knowledge of company structure and operations to resolve problems, make decisions and achieve business objectives
  • Coaches and develops others using career development processes/tools
  • Investigates incidents and responds to requests, problems, crises and critical situations; identifies causes, documents findings, and determines responses/next steps
  • Manages physical assets (e.g., machinery, vehicles, equipment, supplies); evaluates, obtains and allocates physical asset resources, maximizes their use and projects future asset needs
  • Willingness to work flexible shift hours and on the weekends
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft office products
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles
