Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee VA School Certifying Officials and manage enrollment certifications and transcript evaluation.
• Perform TEOG awarding, SAP calculations, adjustments, and EOY reporting.
• Co-chair the Financial Aid SAP Committee and review SAP appeals.
• Generate all Financial Aid Office correspondence including award letters and SAP notifications.
• Coordinate FAFSA night presentations for area High Schools and outreach events.
• Represent the financial aid office campus-wide and provide leadership in the director’s absence.
• Determine award types and amounts and monitor packaging processing and budgets.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Financial Aid Director, responsible for assisting in the administration of all federal, state, and college student financial aid programs, providing leadership in financial aid operations and advising financial aid staff, coordinating the student work study program and providing service to all financial aid applicants and recipients.
Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop working relationships with internal and external partners, as well as various college departments, staff and faculty ensuring they are provided with the financial aid support needed.
• Oversee VA School Certifying Officials in the performance of Veteran Educational Benefit certifications, by collecting documents, submit transcript evaluation, review schedule for degree conflicts, submit enrollment certification, monitor schedule changes and submit corrections to VA.
• Perform TEOG awarding, SAP calculations, adjustments, request funds, and submit EOY reporting.
• Perform as Co-chair of Financial Aid SAP Committee, by reviewing and approving SAP appeals.
• Generates all correspondence produced by the Financial Aid Office such as: student award letters, verification materials, SAP notifications, VA new student packets, Texas Veterans Hazlewood needs, and all other external correspondence.
• Coordinate and plan information used for annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ) night presentations to area High Schools.
• Serves as a secondary key liaison to university administrative, academic, and division offices regarding financial aid operations and administration and will represent the office throughout campus and at external events. As well as provide vision, leadership and management to the financial aid team especially in the absence of the financial aid Director
• Determines the types and amounts of financial aid to be awarded through the packaging process according to federal, state and institutional requirements. Monitors individual student awards. Resolves data conflicts and over awards.
• Performs annual reporting of federal, state and veteran processes.
• Perform functions relative to developing, allocating and monitoring budgets with state and institutional financial aid programs, developing and overseeing and participating in new internal and external initiatives and special projects. As well as, recommending process changes/improvements based on federal regulations, guidelines and professional literature
• Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree required ; Master’s preferred

Certifications

Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain clearance to use Federal Student Aid Systems; Financial Aid Advisors ( FAA ), Common Origination and Disbursements ( COD ), National Student Loan Database, ( NSLDS ), Electronic Immigration Status Verification ( SAVE ), Veterans Administration Joint Services Transcripts, and Veterans Administration (VA Once), Federal Student Aid ( FSA ) annual compliance certification.
