The Fabrication Manager is responsible for working with the Branch Operations Manager to oversee all shop floor activities related to production and quality control. The role ensures delivery schedules are met while controlling labor costs. The Fabrication Manager monitors daily production output to meet standards, contributes to equipment maintenance, manages employee discipline, and oversees daily operations.
Duties:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training across fabrication areas, including equipment, software, and company policies.
- Coordinate daily with Customer Service and Warehouse to ensure high customer service levels and on-time delivery.
- Maintain safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards per government and company regulations.
- Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues to identify causes, resolve problems, and prevent recurrence.
- Conduct standard metrics reporting as directed.
- Manage resources and consumables efficiently.
- Provide coverage for additional responsibilities in the absence of the manager.
- Perform other tasks necessary for company and customer needs as assigned.
- Supervise employees, including assessing staffing needs and overtime planning.
- Report safety, product, machine maintenance, and manpower issues promptly, and suggest resolutions.
- Monitor production schedules and address potential problems or bottlenecks.
- Conduct quality control operations and report audit results to the Branch Operations Manager.
- Perform fabrication tasks such as operating equipment, loading/unloading pipe, and preparing bundles for shipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Minimum 4-year degree in a related field or 2-year degree with equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate well-reasoned, independent thoughts.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Intermediate PC proficiency at minimum.
