Job summary

Amgen Inc. is seeking a Manager, External Engagement to lead operations across media relations, social media, and digital communications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, agencies, and vendors to drive priority external engagement initiatives and ensure compliance with company standards. The role supports global communications, develops executive briefing materials, and manages budgets while contributing to Amgen's thought leadership and external engagement goals.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with 2+ years in PR/communications/journalism
• Bachelor’s with 4+ years in PR/communications/journalism
• Associate’s with 8+ years in PR/communications/journalism
• High school diploma with 10+ years in PR/communications/journalism

Responsibilities

• Support the media relations, social media and digital communications teams in day-to-day operations.
• Supervise the Corporate Affairs material review process to ensure compliance with standards.
• Distribute Amgen global press releases.
• Prepare media, social and digital monitoring and performance reports.
• Manage contracts and relationships with external engagement vendors; assess new opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Corporate Affairs.
• Lead external engagement metrics and reporting across media, social and digital channels.
• Develop executive briefing materials and integrated external engagement plans.
• Manage the external engagement budget, purchase orders and invoices.
• Identify trends and platforms to keep Amgen at the forefront of external engagement.
