Manager, Events Programming & Administration

We are Tennis! The USTA (United States Tennis Association) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open.

The role

  • Support major and strategic Player and Coach Development events, projects, initiatives and activities
  • Support PCD Department leads in planning department events and/or projects
  • Lead and work collaboratively with other USTA Community Tennis business units including Diversity and Inclusion, Marketing, Engagement, Competitive, Grassroots, Collegiate, Player Development, Coaching and USTA Foundation in order to connect resources between the business units Assess and report progress in meeting department objectives
  • Develop and refine the new staff members PD Orientation Lead efforts to streamline and innovate administration processes to optimize time and resources (human & financial)

Who you are

  • Bachelors degree and in sport related field and/or relevant experience
  • 5 or more years of event and project management experience
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Excellent strategic thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate with numerous constituents in an effective manner
  • Demonstrated strong ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a timely and efficient manner
  • Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator
  • Strong working knowledge of performance and operations management
  • Ability to navigate effectively within the USTA and build strong working relationships with key stakeholders

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $56.000 to $68,000/yr. Any additional pay or benefits a person may qualify for, are not included in this range. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
