Job summary

North American Properties is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Human Resources to lead day-to-day HR operations and support the people needs of North American and its affiliated companies. Based in our Cincinnati-area operations, this position reports to the Director, Business Operations and will oversee onboarding, benefits, associate relations, and compliance.

The role requires strategic partnering with leaders, strong judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a multi-entity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR experience in operations, benefits, or administration.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Ability to advise supervisors and handle sensitive associate matters with discretion.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and escalate when needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HR/payroll/benefits systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, onboarding, offboarding, and associate records.
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and plan reporting.
  • Advise managers on performance, policy interpretation, and workplace matters.
  • Support HR projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Partner with payroll, legal, and advisory partners to resolve issues.

Position Overview

North American is seeking a Manager, Enterprise Human Resources to lead day-to-day HR operations and support the people needs of North American and its affiliated companies. Reporting to the Director, Business Operations, this individual will oversee core HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, benefits and retirement plan administration, associate relations, performance support, compliance, and associate records. The Manager will work closely with company leaders and external partners to ensure HR practices are consistent, responsive, and aligned with business needs. This position is well suited for an HR professional who combines strong judgment, discretion, organization, and a service-oriented approach with the ability to operate independently in a complex, multi-entity environment.

Contributions You Will Make to the Team
Human Resources Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, processes, documentation, and associate records.
  • Manage onboarding, employment changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Maintain consistent, efficient, and compliant HR practices across the organization.
  • Develop and improve HR procedures, templates, communications, and administrative processes.
  • Partner with EMS and the Director, Business Operations on HR strategy, workforce needs, and organizational priorities.
  • Advise managers on performance management, associate relations, policy interpretation, documentation, and workplace matters.
  • Support organizational changes, workforce planning, and other business-driven HR initiatives.
Benefits and Retirement Plan Administration
  • Oversee 401(k) administration, compliance documentation, associate communications, and coordination with plan partners.
  • Support benefits administration, enrollment, eligibility, qualifying life events, and associate inquiries.
  • Coordinate annual activities, including open enrollment, audits, compliance testing, required notices, and plan reporting.
  • Partner with payroll, benefits, retirement plan, legal, and advisory partners to resolve issues and ensure accurate administration.
Associate Relations and Compliance
  • Provide guidance to associates and managers on policies, performance expectations, workplace practices, and employment matters.
  • Support performance discussions, coaching, corrective action, and appropriate documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and record-retention requirements.
Associate Experience and Special Projects
  • Support initiatives that strengthen associate engagement, communication, retention, and development.
  • Assist with performance-management programs, training, recognition, and organizational communications.
  • Lead or support HR projects involving process improvement, systems, compliance, integrations, or organizational change.
  • Partner across finance, payroll, IT, operations, and leadership to coordinate HR-related initiatives.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements - What You'll Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, including HR operations, benefits, associate relations, or administration.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, benefits administration, and sound employment practices.
  • Experience advising Supervisors and handling sensitive associate matters with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate independently, and recognize when matters require escalation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HR, payroll, benefits, or applicant-tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or comparable professional certification.
  • Experience working with a professional employer organization or other outsourced HR partners.
  • Experience supporting multiple businesses, locations, or affiliated companies.
