Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking a Manager of Electrical Engineering to lead electrical design for tenant fit-outs in its data halls. You will own power distribution, PDU/busway layouts, and coordination with base-build capacity, ensuring code-compliant designs.

You will mentor designers, review load calculations, and collaborate with Mechanical, Structural, BIM, and Estimating to deliver integrated solutions. PE preferred, 8+ years of data center experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of electrical design experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Hands-on experience with PDUs, busway, RPPs, UPS tie-ins, and metering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit for electrical design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for tenant fit-out including data hall power distribution and PDU/busway layouts.
• Size and coordinate tenant loads against base-build capacity and interface with base-build electrical engineering.
• Translate customer requirements into constructible, code-compliant designs.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical designers/engineers; review drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, BIM, and Estimating to resolve conflicts and deliver integrated designs.
• Support commissioning activities and resolve field electrical issues during tenant build-outs.
• Maintain standard electrical details, specifications, and design guidelines for TFO scopes.

About the role

The Manager, Electrical Engineering leads electrical design for customer deployments within Prime's data halls. This role is responsible for power distribution within tenant white space — including PDUs, busway, remote power panels, and circuit whips — and for ensuring tenant electrical designs align with available base-build capacity and code requirements.

What you'll do

• Lead electrical design for tenant fit-out projects, including data hall power distribution, PDU and busway layouts, remote power panels, and circuit/whip design
• Size and coordinate tenant electrical loads against available base-build capacity; interface with Base Build Electrical Engineering on capacity allocation and infrastructure tie-in points
• Translate customer electrical requirements — redundancy configuration, voltage, metering — into constructible, code-compliant designs
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical designers/engineers; review drawings, load calculations, and specifications for quality and code compliance
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, BIM, and Estimating to resolve interdisciplinary conflicts and deliver integrated designs
• Support commissioning activities and resolve field electrical issues arising during tenant build-outs
• Maintain standard electrical details, specifications, and design guidelines for TFO scopes

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical design experience, ideally within data center or other mission-critical facility environments
• Hands-on experience with data hall power distribution equipment: PDUs, busway, RPPs, UPS tie-ins, and metering
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit or comparable electrical design tools
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
