Prime Data Centers in Lockhart, TX is seeking a Director, Tenant Fit-Out to lead the TFO engineering organization across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and more. You will own end-to-end deployment designs for tenant spaces and ensure integration with core facility infrastructure.

The role requires 12+ years in data center design or construction, 5+ years leading multidisciplinary teams, and PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience in data center design, engineering, or construction, with tenant fit-out or colocation deployment exposure.
• 5+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering or design teams.
• Experience with data hall white space design: rack layouts, PDUs, busway, RPPs, cooling, cabling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the TFO engineering organization across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Technical, Pre-Construction, BIM, and Estimating disciplines.
• Own end-to-end delivery of customer-ready deployment solutions, including white space design, rack layouts, power distribution within the data hall, structured cabling and fiber pathways, and customer equipment integration.
• Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for customer requirements and translate tenant specifications into constructible, code-compliant designs.
• Partner with Base Build Engineering leadership to align TFO designs with core facility capacity and utility integration.
• Establish design standards, templates, and playbooks for recurring tenant deployment types to improve consistency, speed, and cost predictability.
• Own the TFO engineering budget, staffing plan, and resource allocation across active and pipeline projects.
• Report program status, technical risks, and commercial impacts to senior leadership and customers when appropriate.
• Champion continuous improvement in design quality, cost control, and schedule performance across the TFO portfolio.

About the role

The Director, Tenant Fit-Out leads Prime's TFO engineering organization, responsible for designing and delivering customer-specific deployment solutions within Prime's data centers. This role owns the full multidisciplinary team — Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Technical, Pre-Construction, BIM, and Estimating — and is accountable for translating individual tenant requirements into buildable, schedule- and budget-compliant designs. The Director partners closely with Base Build Engineering leadership to ensure fit-out designs integrate cleanly with core facility infrastructure, and serves as the senior engineering point of contact for customers on deployment-related technical matters.

• Report program status, technical risks, and commercial impacts to senior leadership and, where appropriate, to customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
• 12+ years of experience in data center design, engineering, or construction, with substantial exposure to tenant fit-out or colocation deployment work
• 5+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering or design teams
• Deep familiarity with data hall white space design: rack/cabinet layouts, power distribution (PDUs, busway, RPPs), cooling distribution, and structured cabling/fiber pathways
• Track record partnering directly with enterprise or hyperscale customers on technical requirements and deployment specifications
• Experience coordinating with base-build design and construction teams on capacity allocation and infrastructure tie-ins
• Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
