Job summary

Prime Data Centers in Dallas seeks a Manager, Technical Engineering to own cross-discipline technical coordination across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and BIM, ensuring design consistency and construction readiness.

This role leads RFIs, maintains standards, and guides junior engineers, partnering with Pre-Construction, Estimating, and BIM to mitigate risks and ensure customer specifications are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years engineering experience in data center or mission-critical facility design across multiple disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural design as applied to data hall white space.
• Experience managing RFI processes, design reviews, or standards programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical integration across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and BIM to ensure designs are consistent and construction-ready.
• Own the RFI process for TFO projects and ensure timely, accurate resolution.
• Maintain and evolve technical standards, specifications, and design guidelines across disciplines.
• Lead design quality reviews at key milestones against customer requirements and codes.
• Support evaluating new customer technical requirements and assess design impacts before scoping.
• Partner with Pre-Construction, Estimating, and BIM to flag technical risks early in design.
• Mentor and serve as a technical resource for less experienced engineers.

About the role

The Manager, Technical Engineering owns cross-discipline technical coordination and quality control across TFO design deliverables. This role acts as the technical integrator across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and BIM, ensuring designs are internally consistent, meet customer specifications, and are ready for construction — including ownership of technical standards, specifications, RFIs, and design quality reviews.

What you'll do

• Coordinate technical integration across Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, and BIM disciplines to ensure TFO designs are consistent and construction-ready
• Own the RFI process for TFO projects, routing technical questions to the correct discipline and ensuring timely, accurate resolution
• Maintain and evolve technical standards, specifications, and design guidelines used across all TFO disciplines
• Lead design quality reviews at key milestones, checking deliverables against customer requirements and code compliance
• Support the Director, Tenant Fit-Out in evaluating new customer technical requirements and assessing design impacts before scoping
• Partner with Pre-Construction, Estimating, and BIM to flag technical risks early in the design process
• Serve as a technical resource for less experienced engineers across disciplines, promoting consistent design practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of engineering experience in data center or mission-critical facility design, spanning multiple technical disciplines
• Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural design as applied to data hall white space
• Experience managing RFI processes, design reviews, or technical standards programs
• Excellent cross-functional communication and coordination skills
• Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
