Job summary

Yanfeng in the United States is seeking an experienced EHS leader to monitor performance, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and drive improvements in a manufacturing setting.

You will lead a team of EHS professionals, implement ISO 14001/45001 and OHSAS frameworks, and collaborate with plant managers and stakeholders to ensure safety, compliance, and environmental excellence across operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in EHS, automotive industry preferred.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM or related certifications may be considered.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and plants.

Responsibilities

• Monitor EHS performance, identify risks, and manage audits and on-site inspections.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and drive waste management and trainings.
• Research and recommend changes to improve EHS performance.
• Provide EHS guidance to area and plant managers.
• Eliminate occupational injury and environmental non-compliance in manufacturing.
• Lead and develop a team of EHS professionals.
• Implement EHS systems per ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS.
• Maintain relationships with community and EHS stakeholders.
• Coordinate compliance audits and inspections, including insurance audits.
• Ensure new equipment meets legal and YF requirements.
• Manage the plant’s occupational health provider.
• Set standards and cultivate EHS culture in the plant.
• Understand and meet Quality, EHS, Product Safety, and Compliance requirements.
• Maintain IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI data.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Be able to work overtime and travel as needed.
• Multitask, interact professionally with customers and staff.
• Maintain predictable attendance and arrive on site as required.

Job description

• Monitor EHS performance, identify risks, areas of improvement, conduct and manage EHS audits and on-site inspections to identify EHS workplace hazards.
• Manage investigation of EHS incidents, prepare reports and recommendations, implement waste management programs, develop and drive EHS trainings , manage relationships with community of EHS stakeholders.
• Research, evaluate and recommend changes to improve EHS performance.
• Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to area managers and plant managers.
• Eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment.
• Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of EHS professionals.
• Implementation of EHS systems according to norms ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and OHSAS.
• Maintain relationships with the community, EHS groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization.
• Coordinate compliance audits, inspections, including insurance inspections.
• Ensure all new equipment meets all legal and YF requirements.

• Bachelor's Level Degree

• Area of Study: EHS or related field.

• *Equivalent work experience or professional certifications obtained by applicants (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM, Registered Nurse, etc.) may also be considered for certain positions

• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience in EHS.

• 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.

• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

• Experience of a minimum of two years in managing regulatory compliance in OSHA, worker’s compensation, manufacturing health and safety training, environmental and ergonomics.

• ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including internal and external customers such as OE and NGO requirements; training and record keeping requirements, ISO documentation requirements and formats.
