Job summary

Yanfeng US Automotive Interior Systems II LLC is seeking an EHS Leader to drive environmental health and safety initiatives at our Hoover, AL manufacturing site. The role involves managing audits, incident investigations, waste programs, and EHS trainings to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

The candidate will lead a team of EHS professionals, coordinate with regulators and stakeholders, and implement ISO 14001/45001 and OHSAS across operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in EHS or related field.
  • 3-5 minimum years of experience in EHS.
  • 3-5 minimum years of experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be willing to travel and work at customer sites.
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance in OSHA, workers’ compensation, environmental and ergonomics.
  • ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including documentation.

Job description

  • Provide expertise and advice on EHS issues to area managers and plant managers.
  • Eliminate the risk of occupational injury and illness, and environmental non-compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team of EHS professionals.
  • Implementation of EHS systems according to norms ISO 14001, ISO 45001and OHSAS.
  • Maintain relationships with the community, EHS groups, or other stakeholders impacted by the EHS performance of the organization.
  • Coordinate compliance audits, inspections, including insurance inspections.
  • Ensure all new equipment meets all legal and YF requirements.
  • Manage the plant’s occupational health provider.
  • Set the standard and cultivate the EHS culture in the plant.
  • Quality System: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Quality requirements.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS): Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
  • Product Safety: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Compliance: Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Information Security: Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • Area of Study: EHS or related field.

  • *Equivalent work experience or professional certifications obtained by applicants (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM, Registered Nurse, etc.) may also be considered for certain positions

  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience in EHS.

  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.

  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.

  • Experience of a minimum of two years in managing regulatory compliance in OSHA, worker’s compensation, manufacturing health and safety training, environmental and ergonomics.

  • ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 requirements including internal and external customers such as OE and NGO requirements; training and record keeping requirements, ISO documentation requirements and formats.
