MANSCAPED is seeking a hands-on, full-stack Manager to lead a diverse development team responsible for the MANSCAPED direct-to-consumer platform, including the Shopify Plus storefront, headless web experience, Node.js middleware, and cloud infrastructure.

The role blends technical coding with leadership, backlog ownership, and cross-functional collaboration with Product, DTC, Marketing, Cybersecurity, and Leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years building and operating customer-facing web platforms in a large organization.
2+ years leading developers onshore and offshore while remaining hands-on.

Who Were Looking For -

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Digital Technology Development, we are seeking a hands-on, full-stack Manager, Digital Technology Development to lead a team of developers, both onshore and offshore, who build and run the MANSCAPED direct‑to‑consumer platform: the Shopify Plus storefront and checkout, the headless web experience, the Node.js middleware and integrations behind it, and the cloud infrastructure it runs on. This is a technical manager role: the ideal candidate spends a meaningful part of every week in the code reviewing pull requests, setting engineering standards, unblocking developers and building features while owning backlog and change management with the Team PM, hiring, performance management, vendor relationships and production health, and partnering with Product, DTC, Marketing, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Applications, the Digital Technology architect and leadership on budget, KPIs and the evolution of the stack.

Responsibilities:

Identify and prioritize quarterly, bi‑annual and year‑end goals and key initiatives, including key launch dates and peak‑season code freezes aligned with other org deadlines
Lead team of developers (Onshore/Offshore) to ensure backlog is managed effectively; partner with Team PM on estimates, capacity planning, the change management process and new priorities
Own code quality for Digital Technology: define the code review process and standards for testing, CI/CD, secure coding and documentation, personally review architectural and high‑risk pull requests, and lead resolution of technical issues in the programs being developed
Participate up to 20-30% in development and deployment related activities building features, fixing production defects and developing initial SDK implementations for new software being onboarded by MANSCAPED
Assure production functions are performing properly every day and all alerts from Site Reliability, QA and Cybersecurity are championed to closure, assign priority, and allocate resources as needed use appropriate scrum or meetings to ensure these teams are effective in supporting Digital Technology
Track Digital Technology KPIs: site availability and performance, checkout health during key trading periods, and delivery metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore)
Participating in scrum meetings including backlog grooming, scrum of scrums (cross Team meeting weekly)
Hiring, Onboarding, performance management and career development for Digital Technology developers, including offshore consultants; raise offshore proficiency through pairing, code review and clear standards
Facilitate external vendor relationships and meetings, define ways of working and manage vendor onboarding/offboarding
Determine right mix of internal and external resources based on defined and agreed objectives with leadership
Be the point of contact for mission critical SaaS that MANSCAPED depends on by building key relationships within the vendor (Like Shopify, Ordergroove, Kount, Ketch, Ablr, Netlify), being aware of support options and escalation paths
Work with Sr. Director, Digital Technology Development to ensure understanding of budget (including SaaS and cloud spend) and defining ownership of specific spend
Partner with the Digital Technology architect on designs, standards and the roadmap for the tech stack, and ensure the team builds to the agreed architecture
Build client relationships (DTC, Marketing, Legal, Product Management) for internal clients and external partners to ensure visibility and support
Champion secure development practices with Cybersecurity: dependency vetting, secret detection and vulnerability SLAs
Plan and facilitate face to face meetings for the Development team as necessary to promote cohesion
Other duties as required

Qualifications:

8+ years as a full-stack engineer building and operating customer-facing e-commerce or web platforms in a large cross functional organization, including 2+ years leading developers (onshore and offshore) while remaining hands‑on in the code
Backend: Node.js/TypeScript services and APIs (REST and GraphQL), relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL or SQL Server), and event‑driven integrations (Pub/Sub, Service Bus or similar)
Frontend: React with Next.js or another modern framework, including performance and SEO for a consumer storefront
Cloud: has designed and run production workloads on GCP or Azure compute, networking, identity and secrets, infrastructure as code (Pulumi or Terraform), CI/CD (GitHub Actions), observability (Datadog, PagerDuty) and cost management
Shopify Plus: Admin and Storefront APIs, checkout extensibility, apps, webhooks and multi‑market setups
Experience managing third‑party consulting teams and contractors for the technical code delivery and defining the code review process
Track record of owning production: incident response, on‑call, and availability during peak trading periods
Background with Gatsby, headless CMS (Strapi), subscription platforms (Ordergroove), consent and analytics tooling, or a cloud migration or storefront re‑platform, is a plus
