The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of DBA experience, with strong T-SQL, PowerShell, and HA/DR expertise. Partial telecommuting is allowed within a commutable distance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer and Information Technology or closely related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database administration or related occupation.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and cloud platforms (AWS Aurora RDS, DynamoDB) preferred.

Responsabilités

• Administer MS SQL Server including replication, backup/restore, and related components.
• Support and administer cloud-based data platforms (AWS Aurora RDS, DynamoDB) for availability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain databases in production, development, and QA environments.
• Modify databases, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, and jobs per change control policies.
• Analyze problems, anticipate future issues, and implement solutions; participate in on-call rotation.

Job Description

CoStar Realty Information Inc. seeks Manager, Database Administration in Irvine, CA

Job Duties: Complete Microsoft SQL Server task including administration, replication, backup/restore procedures and related components such as Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and Integration Services. Support and administer cloud-based data platforms, including AWS Aurora RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL-compatible) and Amazon DynamoDB, ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability. Install, configure, monitor, and maintain databases in the production, development, and quality assurance environments. Process database change requests, including the creation and modification of databases, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, and jobs in accordance with change control policies. Recommend and implement solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning. Assist with Windows Server configuration and management as it relates to MS SQL Server installation and performance. Provide support and technical expertise to development, QA, and other teams. Analyze problems, anticipate future problem areas, and implement solutions. Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week every three months, responding to system alerts and supporting incident resolution as needed. Manage 6 direct reports, including 4 Senior Database Administrators and 2 Senior Data Engineers. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer and Information Technology or a closely related field plus 8 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
