Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a senior data solutions engineer to design and implement scalable cloud-based data platforms. You will lead end-to-end data pipelines, model design, and integration with business analytics tools, ensuring security, reliability, and governance across the enterprise data ecosystem.

The role requires deep Azure data stack expertise (Databricks, Unity Catalog), Python/Spark, SQL, and CI/CD practices, plus mentoring teammates and collaborating with business stakeholders to drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum seven years of experience designing and delivering enterprise data solutions.
• Hands-on experience with the Azure data stack, including Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Proficiency in architecting data models and developing complex data pipelines using Python/Spark and SQL.
• Experience with Git repositories and CI/CD processes, plus data consumption platforms and analytics tools like Power BI and Power Platform.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions across cloud-based data platforms while leading technical execution from solution design through deployment, ensuring performance, security, reliability, and service-level requirements are met
• Build, optimize, and support resilient data pipelines that enable efficient ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data assets, while troubleshooting and resolving complex data integration, performance, and quality issues
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models supporting reporting, analytics, and business operations, defining data structures, relationships, and integration approaches for enterprise analytical needs
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and architects to translate business requirements into technical designs, prioritize data delivery activities, and manage solution dependencies
• Ensure alignment of data models, pipelines, and data products with established architecture standards and governance requirements, while supporting the development of reusable data assets and frameworks that improve scalability and consistency across solutions
• Mentor and guide data engineers and developers, establish standards for development, testing, and deployment, maintain comprehensive technical documentation, drive continuous process improvement, and champion data quality, integrity, and operational reliability across supported solutions
• Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum seven years of recent experience designing and delivering enterprise data solutions
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
• Demonstrated deep knowledge and hand-on experience in designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions across cloud data platforms across all project phases, with hands-on expertise with the Azure data stack, including Databricks, Unity Catalog
• Proven proficiency in architecting data models and developing complex data pipelines using Python/Spark and SQL
• Experience with code management and deployment using Git repositories and CI/CD processes, along with an understanding of data consumption platforms and analytics tools such as Power BI and the Power Platform
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions, accompanied by strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across technical and business teams
