Position Details

Title: Mgr Data Analytics and Reporting

Reports To: Director, OT Data Analytics and Strategy

Position Concept

The Mgr Data Analytics and Reporting leads a team providing enterprise data, analytics, and reporting solutions. Establishes and refines data strategies in collaboration with architects and product owners and promotes strategies to business partners. Oversees the team delivering advanced analytics solutions using both on-premises and cloud platforms, enhances digitization and business transformation. Provides leadership for data-driven analytics and deploys toolsets across traditional and agile development activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Strategy and Delivery: Establish and lead the direction of the data, analytics, and reporting strategy involving collaboration with architects, product owners, and support team members to bring big data projects from discovery phases into production. Manage all aspects of delivery (designing, building, pricing, and enhancing the service), and cost recovery. (30%)
  2. Resource and Budget Management: Manage resources and budget levels to meet strategic objectives and operational needs. Recommends and/or approves employment decisions (e.g., hiring, promotion, appropriate pay, rewards/recognition, succession planning, and termination). Manage employee performance and provide performance feedback. Establish performance expectations and goals aligned with company objectives. Manage, train, and develop staff through timely feedback, coaching, and support. (20%)
  3. Performance Metrics: Consolidate and assess performance metrics reports across service providers and develop recommendations for cross-service provider improvements. (20%)
  4. Contracts and Performance Management: Develop and maintain contractual agreements and performance management mechanisms (e.g., SOWs, SLAs). (10%)
  5. Collaboration and Governance: Partner with the business and operational teams within OT and IT, and with other organizational management (Cyber Security, IT Risk and Compliance). Collaborate with the enterprise architecture team to ensure data management principles and governance are aligned with strategy. (10%)
  6. Company Values and Safety: Demonstrate company values through decisions and actions. Promote safety culture to ensure a safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. (10%)
Supervision

Direct supervision of Data Engineers and Data Architects.

Qualifications
Education/Training

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Preferred: Advanced degree in Business Administration or related field.

Related Experience

Required: 8 years of direct work experience performing the duties of this position.

Preferred: SAP experience including full end-to-end project lifecycle in utility implementations; experience supporting SAP ERP Solutions (ECC: FI/CO, MM, HR/PY, WAM) or IS-U Customer Care & Billing; knowledge of Azure platform.

Supervisory Experience

Required: 3 years managing or leading a technical team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Big Data concepts.
  • Extensive experience in data warehousing, modeling, ETL, advanced analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Excellent project management, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions quickly.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, customer-focused.
  • Ability to work across areas, develop services, manage risks, and provide excellent service.
  • Effective decision-making, results-oriented, team-building, and continuous learning.
  • Strong ethics and interpersonal skills, ability to manage stress.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Drive continuous process improvement in SDLC, maintenance, and IT architecture.
