Job summary

Asurint is hiring a Manager, Data Acquisition to lead Criminal and Housing Data Acquisition teams, drive data coverage, and ensure compliant, high-quality data operations. You’ll collaborate with the Director to expand data sources, improve processes, and guide teams toward performance targets.

The role supports remote work within the United States or an office in Cleveland, Ohio with occasional travel and responsibilities across vendor management, KPI development, and cross-functional

Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Server required.
  • Experience with XML and HTML.
  • Experience using reporting tools and data sets to analyze and report data.
  • Experience with the life cycle of criminal records and standards needed to report them.
  • Experience with the legal/court system preferred.
  • Experience with background screening preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar; Salesforce preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • 2–5 years of supervisory experience preferred.

  • Forecasts resource needs based on pipeline fluctuations and adjusts resources accordingly.
  • Develops and enhances team KPIs to ensure high performance to standards.
  • Creates team-specific policies for successful operation.
  • Develops training initiatives based on data from quality reviews.
  • Oversees department quality audits to measure program effectiveness.
  • Recommends process improvements to increase efficiency and onboarding.
  • Tracks trends and reports to leadership on key findings.
  • Prepares reports and statistics on team output and activities.
  • Acts as escalation point for tactical data issue resolution.
  • Completes special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Summary

The Manager, Data Acquisition is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Criminal and Housing Data Acquisition teams, overseeing the acquisition methods, quality, and performance of criminal, housing, sanctions and other public record sources. This role also provides leadership and operational guidance to team members while partnering with the Director, Data Acquisition to expand data coverage, drive process improvement, and ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality data acquisition operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, hires, and manages performance to organization goals and expectations.
  • Manages team resources effectively and efficiently to support operational objectives and departmental priorities; maintains and understanding of company strategy, products, clients, and industry trends.
  • Manages vendors and outside service providers of bulk data effectively; sets expectations and holds them accountable.
  • Monitors team processes to yield low cost, high quality, compliant results.
  • Forecasts resource needs based on volume fluctuations by monitoring course list pipeline and adjusting resources accordingly.
  • Develops and enhances team KPIs to ensure high performance to standards.
  • Creates team-specific policies appropriate for the successful operation of the team.
  • Develops training initiatives based on data from quality reviews to ensure teams are properly educated on processes.
  • Oversees department quality audits to measure the effectiveness of programs and procedures.
  • Recommends process improvements related to quality and onboarding that result in increased operational efficiency.
  • Tracks trends and reports to leadership on key findings.
  • Prepares reports and statistics related to team output and current activities.
  • Acts as escalation point and subject matter expert for tactical resolution of escalated data issues to ensure issues are validated and resolved.
  • Completes special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience with relationship database systems including SQL Server is required.
  • Experience with Web transportation tools (XML and HTML) is required.
  • Experience using reporting tools and data sets to analyze and report data is required.
  • Experience with the life cycle of criminal records and standards needed to report them is required.
  • Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
  • Experience with background screening is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred. Salesforce is preferred.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Certifications or licensure: If you do any work-related driving while at Asurint, a driver’s license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is required.
  • Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising: 2 to 5 years is preferred.
Working Conditions
  • The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, including the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
  • This position is performed remotely within the United States or in an office setting in the Cleveland, Ohio headquarters, although off-site meetings in various settings may occur.
  • Inside Asurint’s office environment, the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
  • In a remote setting, the employee is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment, for arranging the off-site workspace in an ergonomically sound manner, and for maintaining standard Internet speeds in order to work effectively.
  • In a remote setting, the employee is required to ensure that all equipment and records that are the property of Asurint but have been relocated to the off-site workplace, are maintained in a safe and secure manner and are used only for business purposes.
  • The schedule is generally normal Eastern Time Zone business hours (unless otherwise communicated based on position or working location), although the employee may be required to perform work, attend meetings and events before or after normal workings hours, and occasionally on weekends and evenings.
  • Some travel by personal automobile and a valid driver’s license may be required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Ability to lift light objects (less than 20 pounds) and carry them short distances (20 feet or less) is required.
