Job description

About Yendo

Hi there, we're Yendo, and our vision is to empower everyday people to build a stronger financial future. In less than 2 years, we’ve saved customers over $100 million in unnecessary interest and fees. We are using AI to unlock the $1.1 Trillion in vehicle equity trapped within cars owned by Americans in the form of a high limit, standard rate credit card for those traditionally excluded from mainstream financial offerings. Yendo Credit Cards have similar APRs to those issued for prime borrowers with no hidden fees or overdraft charges and help build their customers' credit score. Yendo's credit limits are 4x higher than cards typically available for non-prime borrowers.

Role Overview

As a member of the Credit team, you will play a central role in implementing credit strategy into results: (1) implementing and validating credit strategy across approval/decline, line assignment, pricing, and account management; (2) conducting credit strategy simulations and evaluating the impact of strategy changes; and (3) monitoring and reporting on origination and portfolio performance to support optimization in credit strategy.

This role calls for candidates who are highly detail oriented, and who communicate well. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Data, Product, Marketing, and external data and platform vendors, and you will need to influence and negotiate with these partners to secure implementation support and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end implementation of credit strategy (approval/decline, line assignment, pricing, and account management), from business requirements through production launch
  • Perform comprehensive pre-, post- and ongoing implementation validation
  • Conduct strategy simulations on historical application data to evaluate and size expected impact of proposed credit strategy changes on approval rates, origination volume, credit lines, losses, and profitability
  • Build and maintain origination and performance monitoring, including dashboards and monthly reporting on application, approval, credit line, delinquency, loss and revenue metrics
  • Identify emerging trends and recommend corrective actions and deliver clear, timely origination and performance insights to Credit leadership and cross-functional partners
Qualifications

Successful candidates combine hands‑on credit strategy implementation experience with strong analytical skills in strategy sizing and performance monitoring. You should have a meticulous eye for detail, a proven track record of delivering complex changes in engaging cross‑functional partners, and the ability to lead and prioritize in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering). Master’s degree is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk, credit strategy, or portfolio management, preferably within credit cards or consumer lending
  • Proven hands‑on experience with credit policy implementation, including requirements definition, implementation validation, and production launch. Experience with Oscilar or a similar credit decisioning platform is a plus
  • Experience building origination and performance monitoring and reporting, such as dashboards and recurring KPI reporting. Metabase experience is a plus
  • Advanced SQL skills, with Snowflake experience strongly preferred. Python experience is a plus
  • Exceptionally detail oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality control and excellent written and verbal communication skills
